What does it offer that ranger doesn't?
It's mostly just faster (quite a bit faster), defaults are a lot more sane in terms of configuration too.

same, 99% of the time. I try ranger from time to time but don't see the point, really. If I know, where to look for, I use the common cli tools, if I don't know, I use whatever GUI file manager is installed.
I use "broot" from time to time because of it's "whale spotting" feature which is sometimes easier than manually searching with "du -h".

You can still use your shell perfectly for that. If they are too lazy to learn just use an LLM to make the command required. it's infinitely more flexible
I use shell for it all the time but in specific cases manual editing is just faster, hence vidir.

Just learn to use your shell. These file managers are pointless. Only good feature they have is the bulk rename but you get that with vidir.
