Because it's not the sun that is the problem, but human activity. Gasses in the atmosphere prevent the planet from loosing heat, therefore surface temperatures increase. Even with you block some heat from the sun, if earth's atmosphere gets thicker over the years, it will trap even more heat. Also, the sun is important for life on earth, therefore blocking it completely would catastrophic to the environment. Anyway, I don't follow the global warming craze, it's just my sixth grade level understanding.
If the sun disappeared, earth would turn ice pretty quickly. You're not accounting for the insane amount of energy it's feeding into the system.
Greenhouse effect is an "insulation", it doesn't create heat. If you turn down the input from the sun, earth will cool.
That all said it's a terrible idea because of the risks.

The real issue with this is that you will mess with plant life.
Presuming you do it in a way to reduce the solar radiance by, say, 10% (10% may even be too much) the effects on plant growth and even other organisms could knock on to other life forms, including humans.
But that's also a lie. The real issue is the scale you're talking about. Nothing we have launched comes close to blocking even a thousandth of a percent of the light/heat from the sun, even if you amassed it all together.
