Jeets love closed source code because they can steal most of it and no one will know.

      >Why isn't there closed source advocates?
Because most of us don't waste our time coming here to immerse ourselves kneedeep in squabbling moronic children bickering over web browsers and linux distros who will never make anything of themselves. You only hear about FOSS on IQfy because FOSS doesn't go anywhere and neither do typical IQfy misfits.
I'm unique because I've been an autist since the days of programming on the Spectrum and I came to this place in its founding year, it's my one vice I can't quit. And damn if it isn't ridiculous watching the infants bickering over stupid shit every day and waging/neeting away instead of starting businesses.

      >You only hear about FOSS on IQfy because FOSS doesn't go anywhere
      moron.
Literally every closed source project you use is built on FOSS on some level. You're just too much of a techlet to know that.

GIMP doesn't use AI to spy on you, or try to claim it owns license to your work, or try to assert content moderation over what you are allowed to create with it.

It doesn't matter what features your software has when the TOS is so awful

Because it doesn't require advocacy? If you want to buy a product or use a service that won't let you view the source, nobody is stopping you. No additional infrastructure needs to be created to allow you to consume products and then get excited for next products.

Normies won't care as they're all doing the same thing anyways.

Jesus christ said once; "What did Jesus mean when He said, "It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs? (Matthew 15:26 ESV)"
Some people might think he just talking about not spreading the word of good to gentiles, but what he really meant was: "Do not waste your time replying to retärds because Its not worth It."

When id Software open sourced the id Tech 3 engine (a.k.a the Quake 3 engine) under the GPL license, it led to the community-based ioquake3 project which was used by the community to create an array of cool games with, such as Tremulous, OpenArena, Urban Terror, World of Padman.

ioquake3 project is still being developed even today, with the latest commit being merged 5 days ago, almost 19 years after id Software discontinued developing the original id Tech 3 engine to work on their later id Tech engines.

    https://github.com/ioquake/ioq3

Had it remained proprietary, this would not have been happening. FOSS is a blessing that keeps on giving.

It's something you're either indifferent towards or opposed to. There's no logical reason to be a "closed source advocate", or what that functionality amounts to, an anti-FOSS advocate.

      >There's no logical reason to be a "closed source advocate", or what that functionality amounts to, an anti-FOSS advocate
Proprietary software is always superior and in theory closed source is more secure provided it is independently audited.

Corporate don't want to open source because it would expose the amount of pajeet code they actually use in production. We have an entire team dedicated to catching jeets bugs, because somehow it's still cheaper than having normal developers do the code. Clow world knee deep in fecal matter.

Some of the best , most concise and beautiful code ever written is open source. You just don't realize how shit closed source is because you can't see it. but if you want a taste, go look up the Windows leaks that happen every version and glance at Poojeets adding UI's on top of UI's, using Javascript to finalize performance-critical features, and locking important system-critical components to user-controlled variables like current available memory or existing desktop framerate.

All in all, frick off poojeet

back when the image was made, ice cars you could still work on yourself, modify however you wanted, put in parts you got from anywhere, etc. Tesla was ahead of the curve in that if you want someone to touch them, you pretty much have to send them to a tesla authorized shop and use tesla built parts. Also, people didn't have an automatic disdain for tesla yet.
