    Let it go.

Also, he wrote himself into a corner that can't get out, is near certainty that he will die and leave the series unfinished.

      also this too

Everyone with a brain can figure out that the end of the series will be fire dragons melting ice zombie warriors so you can basically fill it all in yourself

Yeah but he can't get there in a way that would work for the reader. Also there's a million other things that have been foreshadowed or hinted at, like the Daynes' role in the whole thing, Euron, the Blackfyres, etc.

Gamuvfrones will have more plot holes than Homestuck any which way. It's not surprising because unlike Tolkien, or Robert Jordan, Germ is a hack. Germ should have written ONE concise story within a setting about Ned Stark, between 80 and 100,000 words. Then should have written a sequel about the child. He should have written a bunch of relatively stand-alones within a world but some grand design he had fell apart in early construction. His tone is alright, his language is alright, the presentation is consistent. The larger view just isn't there. So sure, a skilled hack Germ is.

Didnt Martin get asked if the story would have a "good" ending, and he basically said that its not his style or some shit? I can actually see Euron destroying the world and all shit going down to be honest. Overrated series btw

Then the fate of the rest of the Brotherhood without Banners, those guys were such likable knights trying to do they right thing in a brutal situation. There was the Dayne kid who was Dondarrion's apprentice and the priest who brought Dondarrion back too so still some plot holes to explain.

Does he not realize the core ASOIAF series is the only thing that matters for his legacy? He let all that American Tolkien shit get to his head but he’s not going to be remembered for Elden Ring, his tv shows, Fire and Blood or anything else. If he doesn’t finish it before he dies his legacy will only be an incomplete series.

We're absolutely getting an eight book aren't we? I can't see him wrapping up Aegon and Daenerys invasion along with stuff going on with The Others/Long Night in two books. I can see him stretching The Long Night and the grand epilogue into one longer book because everyone hated how rushed the stuff with The Others was.

I'd say Robert Jordan or maybe Tad William are more deserving of American Tolkien title. GRRM is more like the anti-Tolkien

          >GRRM is more like the anti-Tolkien
You say that but his writing strays little from typical fantasy tropes in practice. He's arguably not even 'darker' than Tolkien - the Silmarillion for example is very grim.

The guy writes schlocky unremarkable fantasy for decades and barely makes a middle class living before he finally hits it big thanks to an HBO adaptation as a senior citizen and you all want him to work his ass off like he’s a broke twenty something. If you were him, you’d slack off too.

Some writers enjoy the craft for the sake of it (see: King, Stephen). It's a shame for all of us that GRRM is not one of them.

It's good genre fiction. If you don't like genre fiction you need not bother, if you like genre fiction it's good and you should read the first book see if you like it.
Especially if you never seen the tv show it's worth reading the series and then watching the show if you like the books, the first series is the first book and it's pretty good
