This, there is no privacy in public.
When you go into a public place you cede your right to not be filmed, and thus anyone is free to so.
Somehow many people still don't understand this and get upset. (Women)

CCTV is already everywhere and people still punch each other out in the streets at night without a care.

Only technically true. They sold prototypes to the public but there was never a finished product and even the sale of the prototype was short lived.

It was also prohibitively expensive at the time ($1,500) for a novelty. There was a media frenzy and everyone hopped on the hatewagon regardless of not having seen one in person. Same basically goes for Apple, so give that a year to see how it does.

Yes but now they're recording other people as well with their Apple vision pros and nobody seems to care.

What I'm saying is that literally not a single iToddler cares about being recorded. They've been trained like cattle to accept an always-on camera pointed at their face.
Why would anyone ban vision pro for that reason? You're waaaaay more likely to be recorded by the dozen+ iphones in the room than by the one autist with a Vision.

The answer is that the masses simply hadn't gotten used to it. One day we'll be able to activate recording with our eyes and ears just by thinking a thought so it's inevitable as technology processes. Our culture will be forced to adapt.

Imagine allowing anyone to copy your photographic likeness with any device. They are literally stealing your image if they don't have your consent. I think we need legislation that allows people to kill in self-defense for someone trying to steal their photographic likeness with their digital cameras.

I'm willing to bet apple vision gets banned in schools as soon as some pervs get caught looking at porn in public

Just think of what will happen when some pedo decides to use one of those AI nude apps with an apple vision and takes it into some local park or school

      Anonymous

Damn, that pedo would be jacking off to fake porn of kids instead of fake porn of adults non-pedo perverts would generate in that same way! We need to stop that, for the children!

        Anonymous

yes, the pedo looking at fake porn on his computer at home is exact same as the pedo sitting on a park bench with a boner staring at a kid with a naked skin overlaid on them moron

          Anonymous

You missed the point. You're treating an app that removes cloths as okay except when it's applied to children, when it would be more reasonable to consider it taboo regardless. Just because the people you're looking at are adults, they're not consenting to the act of being digitally undressed.

That's the argument anyway. I disagree with it and say who cares regardless.

          Anonymous

Maybe if you are a pedo in self denial about your own feelings.
Then even gawking at a stripper is pedo in the minds of those types.

It's worth considering the differences between those/then and these/now.
2014 novelty spy glasses have shit fidelity and battery compared to the Vison's.
Being 2 inches away from someone's phone and still not being able to decipher text on their screen versus being able to zoom in to someone a table away from you and see what they're doing.

I'm not convinced and the picture harms more than it helps your case.

We'd need some serious comparison test, specifically aimed around trying to record sensitive information at distance and/or in motion.
My bet is on the vision being more capable of capturing more damning data. Such as people entering pins at kiosks, or sensitive inputs on their phones, etc.

it's the exact opposite, Google glass pretends to be glasses and attempts to hide its purpose. The Apple Vision Pro cannot possibly mislead in its intent: It's a huge tech device on someone's head and obviously it will be able to record you but people will assume that the main purpose of it is to show data to the wear, not record. With Google Glass it is the opposite: Clearly the main purpose isnt the VR or AR because it's just a tiny set of glasses. So recording must be assumed to be a primary purpose
