How is windows 8.1 baby duck? It was and is legitimately good for valid reasons.

Eol next year unless you use LTSC, which most people can't even do legally.

obviously not going to run eol software connected to the internet on bare metal

how is it bait? it's quick and comfy as hell and look at the memory usage, it's much lower than linux with a desktop environment with equivalent functionality

We've already got to see the times where zoomies praise win 8 kek

      8.1? why?
it's an objective improvement over windows 7. as i've said it's much faster. and in my personal opinion, gay aero was good riddance

      Press the start button

right clicking on the start button quickly shows all i need, and i typically have everything via desktop shortcuts or file explorer
nevertheless i don't mind the full screen start menu that much. it's comfier than having to dig through submenus in windows 10 to find all tools. it starts searching on key press like windows 10

I don't see how. It covers up everything you were working on.
        >it's an objective improvement over windows 7
How? It added a bunch of bloat, removed the defining feature of Windows, and murdered the UI that they had just finished unfricking. Say what you will about aero, at least it was consistent.
        >as i've said it's much faster.
        Not its not
        >gay aero was good riddance
I didn't mind Aero, but I hate Metro. Really I'd prefer the classic theme.

no, its vista with bloat slapped on top. still i used 8.1 from around 2016 till last month and loved it but sadly too much shit was starting to be a b***h about me using it in current year, luckily ive kinda got ltsc 2021 themed and registry fricked pretty close to the way i had things on 8 but i will still miss it

I was praising 8.1 in the 8.1 days. Between 2015 and 2019 10 was an unusable, unstable mess, where 8.1 just worked as it should. A start menu deterred people from using it. Nowadays we have 72 different kinds of cancer added on top of Windows and people just tolerate it. How people praise Windows 10 just because 11 exists baffles me.

Windows 8.1 was fine only because they hadn't removed anything from the old Control Panel yet.
