No it isn't. It only buys you some breathing room or some toys. You need at least $10 million to make a significant change to your life.

I agree that 500K is not lifechanging, but I think ~3M would be enough. I live quite a comfortable life with an 80k salary, 3M at 4% would likely be enough to more than match that.

I seriously wonder if hanging around morons on this board has completely skewed my sense of what is enough. Most normalgays I know would be happy with an extra $2k

Sure 2k would be nice if I had 18k to use.

how do you get the 4%? withdrawing 4% yearly you are at risk of lossing your capital, according to this you need to be 100% sp500 and withdraw less than 4%, ironically bonds will frick up your capital

high dividends shit just dilute your capital

i dont know how to use money after you reach a "make it" ammount without the anxiety of lossing your principal

i already have near 400k so i want to 3x this shit and finally be able to spend

$10 million is still not life changing money.
I have $15 million and women still don't want to date me.
If you're a bald manlet like me, you need at least $25 million to even get a date these days.

Do tell me your secret, sensei.
I get nothing on apps or dating sites, even when I pose in front of my shiny brand new car and big house.
Women in public don't even look at me.

especially if your NW is low, absolutely
it might not let you say frick you and immediately retire forever, but if you invest it and dont touch it, itll make an enormous difference later in life.
also, simply having an extra 500k stashed away will give you a lot more peace of mind if youre living paycheck to paycheck or if you can use it to immediately make yourself debt free

Nearly everyone with a brain is drowned out by morons. The morons compose of kids with no money or real jobs, shitskins, actual sub 80iq morons, and degenerates who are no different than gamblers but cope with their addiction by calling their gambling “investing”. This is also apparent whenever the topic of debt comes up. Ignoring the concept of charging interest (a whole separate topic), there are waaayyy too many who think any amount of debt is terrible and don’t understand how to use it in the system we are in. If you have a mortgage below 3% and can currently get 5+% from even treasuries, you are dumb not to take advantage of that spread. If you get 2% cash back on a credit card and never carry a balance, it’s dumb to not use that over a debit card. But instead they reeeeee over having debt.
