Field monitors to use with 4K cameras.

        But like

        >7" 4k OLED displays exist
they have less actual pixels than a 1440p display with a real subpixel layout

said they aren't really 4K, they can just take a 4K input from a camera and sometimes also pass it though to a 4K recorder.

Because for the same reason 4k displays on phones are useless, 4k monitors that are too small are also useless.
Generally your monitor is further away from your face than your phone is.

      4k in 22" is perfectly feasible. I use a 24" one.

I'm assuming that's an IPS panel. I use a VA panel for the contrast, but I might buy a monitor like yours anyway. Most of my applications are pitch black, how bad would that look on your monitor? Imagine a theme for your text editor with #000 background.

Consumer monitors lag 10 years behind TVs technically.
Outside Apple realm the first FALD monitor just hit the shelves, and it doesn't come cheap.
Unless going for reference monitor that will cost more than $10k (22in OLED 4k), 22inch monitors is for the cheapest segment, so no innovations.

Hardly anyone is autistic enough to want such a small 4k monitor.
For the ones that are, an even smaller group would want an OLED

    FOR WHAT FRICKING REASON???
because its burn in garbage you have to replace dumbass! Same with your shitty phones and laptops.
You have to sell an inferior planned obsolete product to ensure a replacement purchase.
Do you dipshits not even know how this game is played?

There's no point in getting an IPS display, it sucks. VA is just about usable.

Better questio is why the frick ~~*companies*~~ are even bothering with any other than rgb stripe oled. Why develop this garbage called qd-oled, even woled is terrible compared to rgb stripe, so why the frick don't they all make superior panels instead of trash? They are destroying OLED image and branding by releasing subpar tech like qdoled and woled

qdoled supposedly has better colors (but I've personally never seen one irl yet so can't comment)
wrgb is used to increase brightness, which is a big weakness of oled.

What's the point of a sharper text if one's unable to discern small elements @100% scaling? You people are all having bad eyesight, yet want sharper text. That, I cannot understand.

Is there an alternative to OLED? Or are we at the end of the road?

MicroLED (not to be confused with miniLED). The promise here is LEDs will be as small and dense as pixels, and their manufacturing technology doesn't have to be from organic components.

I don't know if things have changed recently, but from what i know certain smaller panel sizes leave remaining panels that are basicly useless.
So they technically could make smaller monitors, but you would most likely have to pay a big premium for it
