            DWMBlurGlass for aero
you need UltraUXThemePatcher for custom themes
oldnewexplorer for loading themes on explorer
            windhawk
            https://www.deviantart.com/digifeye/art/Win10-to-Aero-7-Vista-Longhorn-965218718 for icons
startisback for start (i have trial reseter)
and you need a custom theme (I used this one)

            ?si=vyZQF-02YdSdbW7Z
I love longhorn so i used that.

if you want just normal windows 7
there's gonna be a transformation pack coming out
i think it will literally allow you to restore 90 to 95% of windows 7 look
from User Account control and control panel to action center etc
            insane shit
you can literally have basically "modern' win7

Is there a performance or power consumption hit? Most of these dynamic wallpapers and custom theme crap end up making your GPU memory or CPU not idle so it's permanently sitting at 60C.

Also disable logging into or registering an account on install via cmd during install and then failing to log in
Disabling additional shit like bitlocker and onedrive
And then installing a taskbar replacement because they haven't fixed the bugs
        And a start menu replacement.
And that script also is actively fought against as every major update reverts half of it.
Also the fact that nobody actually checks the script before running it as admin. Its unverified and thus windows is encouraging unsafe computer use by being so fricking garbage.

Secure boot and TPM ensure that nobody can tamper with your system without you knowing even if they have physical access to it. The unique crypto key in the TPM module (or the CPU if you use fTPM) makes it so that if you replace the TPM module, the CPU or the motherboard (or even modify the firmware), the system won't decrypt anymore with just your password and you'll have to enter the recovery key.
Say your entire system is encrypted, if someone takes your computer they have no access to the data. However, they can replace your CPU or the motherboard with a modified one that executes some hidden function when you boot into the OS. They give the computer back without your knowledge, you boot it up, decrypt the system and now the bad actor has access to your data via rogue hardware and you have no way of knowing it.
With secure boot and TPM if someone did that and you booted your PC you wouldn't be greeted with a standard login screen, you'd see a screen prompting you to enter the recovery key so you'd know something is wrong and you can proceed from there on.
In an enterprise setting you might want to give your employees the ability to decrypt data on the fly with a password on a device whose hardware you control but not the ability to decrypt the data on arbitrary hardware with a recovery key which is only privy to you.

TPMs have a private key permanently burned into them at the factory. I have to trust that the manufacturer will not use their ability to know what the key is.

          Anonymous

          Yes, you are 100% correct.
In an enterprise setting I trust Intel and mobo manufacturer not to divulge this information to bad actors because a. there are legal agreements between us and b. they have no incentive to do so but a lot of disincentive. By bad actors I mean someone that might want to pwn you and then take your data ransom and someone who is interested in your trade secrets.
If you are a whistleblower or at odds with the government or affiliated parties, this will not help you in any way obviously but I am not talking about that.

Interesting. I wonder why they're doing this. It looks like an incentive to have Windows 10 LTSC computers onto 11. That or they know the equipment they target with LTSC don't need/have TPM/Secure Boot etc.
I guess the CPU requirements are still something to be wary of though.

I installed Linux Mint recently (to dual boot with Windows 10) as MS seem to be going off the deep end and its been very easy and fun so far, biggest problem I've had was Steam not letting me use other hard drives but it turns out to be very easy to mount them at startup and then allow the flatpak to use it with all permissions so I'm set honestly.
If anything doesn't work and I can just use windows for that specific thing and leave that bloated crap behind otherwise, Mint is so damn nice its like I'm on a real operating system.

      based and true
IQfy needs to let go of its autism that recommends obscure or spergmaster distros to new users
linux mint does everything a windows user needs and if someone wants to use a more specialized or more minimal distro then they can make that decision AFTER using mint for some time and figuring out for themselves what they're going to need

Distro autism doesn’t matter as long as you don’t use meme distros like Arch. Mint, Fedora, Ubuntu doesn’t matter just install one and stick to it. Unironically just pick the one you like the logo of better.

They tried pulling the same thing with the Xbox One and Kinect, claiming the integration was too deep for the Xbox to work without a Kinect. Then when people said "frick off" and didn't buy it, they miraculously discovered how to make it work without a Kinect.
There's probably a bunch of panic going on in Microsoft over the failure of Windows 11. They're going to start dropping requirements left and right. Wouldn't be surprised if they started offering "license amnesty" for anyone using an unlicensed version of 10 if they'll switch over the 11 for free. Some VP is shitting his pants over how badly this is going.

To me, the release of Windows 11 was basically "hey, you NEED that shiny new hardware even though your old one still works perfectly fine". Frick them. I'm pretty sure people stick to 10 because
        >it works
        >it works on any computer that could run Vista
        >why buy a new computer if the old one runs fine
        >most people purchased new hardware in 2021 due to Covid-19, possibly before Windows 11
It's funny because I'm pretty sure Microsoft tried to push the new hardware thing because they knew many Windows 10 systems were Windows Vista/7/8 "upgrades" and they wanted to silently drop these off. But Windows 11 didn't bring enough to the table to justify it in the eyes of the consumers, because it simply doesn't.
Hell, I have a Dell Precision T5400, which is a computer from 2007 that came with Vista; it has an SSD now and it works just fine.

    >removed TPM requirement
This is a big win. TPM is the fricking worst shit. I know you could use RUFUS and get around this shit anyways, but it's pretty cool that Microsoft is removing the requirement officially.

AMD also still hasn't fixed their fTPM stutter despite claiming to do so. It's a moronic requirement to enforce on people to tell them "hey just deal with system wide stutter so we can add DRM to your machine"

Holy frick is that what that shit is? I get it sometimes playing games where shit locks up for like a second and I think it's crashed, but then it goes back to normal.

I have Asus B550 it is probably a problem with some other motherboard manufacturers

I still get stutter on my gigabyte b450 board unless I disable ftpm. It's verifiable by the UFO test page. With it on it stutters every 10s or so and it blames the browser lol. With it off there's zero stutter.

Works for x570 boards but lots of people on B550 and other boards with stutter. Manufacturers point the finger to AMD and AMD point the finger to manufacturers so shit never gets fixed. It's like the Nvidia blowing up cards shit. They blame PSU or your game and they blame Nvidia so the cycle continues.

my sister's laptop auto updated to win11 and i was actually shocked how bad it got
    >noticeable lag when right clicking to open context menu
    >no entries to extract 7z files unless you click "show more options"
    >random notification that linkedin app got installed and pinned itself to start menu
    >some fricking widget menu taking 1/3 of taskbar, you click on it, loads for 15s, nothing there
    >windows settings redesigned, search for a specific one, still finds nothing, have to manually look for it
    >explorer noticeably slower to load all files inside a directory
noted she has a low-power gen8 intel cpu, but it was pretty fast on win10. should've installed win10 iot ltsc but i couldn't be bothered.

I loved when I tried out Windows 11 and it took 45 seconds (I timed it) from the point of clicking the start menu until it actually opened while having a higher end CPU, GPU and nvme SSD! Really convinced me to switch to Linux.
inb4 install classicshell or Launchy, yeah sure I love having to use third party tools that Macroshart actively sabotages between updates to use a basic functionality.
