When I was in college I marathoned a couple Raspution bios cause I was taken in by his reputation as a seducer. Hmm, yeah I read Greene's Art of Seduction soon before.

Many biographies are interesting. Many autobiographies, especially modern ones, are shit. Learn the difference.

I read Mohandas Gandhi's autobiography. He's the only person I care about enough to want to read his life story. He wrote it while he was in jail for nonviolent resistance I think. It's very interesting to hear about late 1800's, early 1900's India while it was still ruled by England from the perspective of this influential figure. This dude was a lawyer and went to college in England, and struggled with the temptation of meat and had to deal with arranged marriage culture. Fascinating for me. I never really recommend it though, it's a very subjective pleasure for me. It's not particularly compelling or dramatic. Perhaps you might enjoy it for historical reasons, or if you are into peace and love like me. I ought to read it again some time, I still have that copy.

    > You can't win
interesting autobiography of a train hopping hobo from the 1920s. Very entertaining.

    > City of Night
Autobiography of a male prostitute in the 50s/60s. If you don't mind the gay stuff, it is one of the best books I've read about love. Specifically a person searching for love who doesn't know/never experienced what love actually is (The ending is not good)

    > Pimp: The Story of My Life
Autobiography of a pimp from the 40s/50s. This is a great book if you want to learn about mind control

Robert Caro's biography on Robert Moses - The Power Broker. It's indirectly a biography of that entire generation of mid-century social planners who made modern America.
