probably not. gaymurs will buy it because it's "better." it's no different than cyclistgays buying a bike that's 0.1 ounces lighter or cargays buying a car with 10 more horsepower. a consoomer is a consoomer is a consoomer.

except that a bike that's lighter is easier to use, and a car with more horsepower is faster, so they're objective upgrades
meanwhile you can't perceive even nearly 1000Hz, so that's not necessarily "better"

        Anonymous

Except you can. 480Hz is the point of diminishing returns but people can tell refresh rates apart above that, even beyond 1000Hz for light pulses.

You might not perceive the refresh rate but you receive updates faster letting you react faster

The frick does that mean? I thought the OS decided when it takes input from the keyboard. And it’s certainly not going to bother taking it 1000 times per second lmao

You realise that the more IO from your mouse/keyboard there is, the less responsive other functionalities of your OS will be right?

Literally common sense. Your mouse/keyboard will be hogging more of the CPU time

the difference between 140/144hz and 240hz is so unbelievably negligible for the price difference (yes, it's perceptible, but it's a small increase in motion fidelity that will only be cared about by competitive FPS gamers, which is a comparatively tiny portion of the market when compared to its whole)

ITT: morons that do not understand that demos exist and they're just for showing off the limits of technology and that's it.

Nobody's going to commercially release a 1000hz 4k display and nobody's going to buy it. This is just a demo that - look, we can do that. Next thing you know, you morons would be calling the demoscene "consoomer bait goyslop". Don't antagonize everything that exists purely for the sake of it.

Notice how I said "anything above 144/165hz and not 1000hz specifically, but you're a strawmanning homosexual

Is 1000hz not above 165? My point is that it's just a demo, whether or not it is commercially feasible is a future consideration. Nowhere did I strawman you, I just presented my opinion on it. Learn to fricking read.

        >nobody will buy 120hz displays
        >no one will buy 165hz displays

        >no one will buy 1000hz displays

Well maybe they will, I can't vouch for the market and I won't pretend to. My statement that nobody will buy it is my opinion, that may be proven wrong. But that doesn't change that it is still just a demo, which may or may not pique market interest.
