Bad news for Firefox fans.

Bad news for Firefox fans. The latest stats reveal that Firefox has fallen to 6th place with a new low of 2.45%, behind Opera which is mostly used on African feature phones and Samsung browser which is mostly just Samsung phone users. With its non Chromium engine and falling market share, could Firefox finally meet the same fate as Netscape? Since Firefox is mostly known for being ublock users many advertising heavy sites may just choose to block Firefox soon and keep the advert enabled majority. It's only a matter of time before a major site blocks Firefox and then its over, and the Chromium web is secured. Will vertical tabs in Firefox be enough to save it or will the death spiral continue?

It's because Opera does marketing on TikTok and Twitter for normiecuck gamers to use their GX version of the browser, thus making the market share rise up.

Youtube sponsorships as well. The amount of video segments shilling this "gaming browser" is insane, especially considering all the questionable things it is doing, especially when it comes to privacy. Several Youtubers called them out on it, but money speaks louder.

How is this bad news? Firefox's total number of users has been growing. As you pointed out, it's % market share is only going down because of irrelevant thirdies and their feature phones

people just don't care anymore. the zillennials of 2009 that installed firefox out of technological curiousity are the same zillennials in 2024 that don't give a shit about computers and have turned to using chrome (or safari on their macbook air). whatever makes youtube, netflix, and instagram run is good enough for them.

      >or safari on their macbook air
It's even worse than that actually. Many people don't even use computers nowadays and just do everything on something super gay like a smartphone or an ipad. The fact is that there was a change regarding of profile of internet user from early 2000s to nowadays. Hell, some moron who knew how to turn a computer in the 2002 could easily find job working on IT support in 2024, just due to how moron everyone became.

tbf what use do most people have for computers now other than:
        >google
        >youtube
        >streaming services
        >music services
        >email
        >social media
        ?
everything is so compartamentalized on the internet now, most people aren't visiting more than 10 or 15 sites MAX, and half of those are various streaming services. you can access all of this on a phone or tablet, so what's the point of even using a clunky laptop or worse, a computer that requires you to sit away from the general living space. all websites they use have responsive web design, so it's not like they even actually NEED to get on a computer for most things.

Well yes, its top two competitors are distributed either preinstalled on the world's 3 most popular operating systems: Windows, iOS and Android, or through drive-by downloads like Chrome still does.

Several Chrome forks also have spam marketing campaigns. Firefox doesn't pay streamers to pretend it's good and not malware. Ahem opera

This is what they get for not catering to their true userbase, privacy-focused schizos. Instead they are too busy catering to normgroids, trannies, adding telemetry and trying to look more like Chrome.

Thus the splintering of their userbase into IceCat, LibreWolf, AbBrowser, etc. I bet if you add all the forks into one that's at least another percentage point and then some more, doubling their market share.

Did I say anything good about Firefox?
          Firefox is garbage too.

But Ungoogled Chromium is shit for privacy, doesn't pass the EFF test, only IceCat, LibreWolf and Mullvad browser do, among other few. You should stay away from anything Google, not even the forks of their shit are good.

          Fricking mouthbreathing moron.
