YouTube decays your preferences anyway. Every three or four months I have to tell it once again to stop recommending Tim Pool videos.

Isn't that just a subscription feed? Pretty sure there is no real algorithm there to begin with, only for recommendations and shit.

Why are my youtube search results only one column? I can't find information or new channels like this.

Is there any way to change this?

I totally used to do this too.
Before I just removed recommendations full stop.

I used to make "punish the algorithms" threads on /b/ and nobody understood what i meant. This is what I meant.

We start abusing them now so they will be more submissive in the future. It's the only way to protect our children's children.

I've used that option so many times I think youtube started ignoring it. everytime I see a e-prostitute or a gay doing the basedjack face on a thumbnail I hit "Do not recommend channel", but every now and then I see a recommendation of a channel I'm pretty sure I asked to not be recommend anymore

Its not a sentinel being anon, it doesn't feel shit and it doesn't care who you are, whatever illusion you think you're seeing its all in your head

The "block channel" feature is a basic blacklist feature whereas the recommendations is a graph-based data feed trying to match your viewing habits with others who have similar viewing habits. The "do not recommend channel" might make the algorithm work hard as it has to filter out otherwise-valid results, but it doesn't actually train your feed in any direction.

      moronic logic.

what do you mean "logic"? it's not logic, it's what the features are. it is a literal description of what they do and how they work. you can't "blacklist" a channel in a graph database that's fingerprinting videos and channels, you ruin the integrity of the graph you'd spend a decade trying to make it work. the feature is orthogonal. the algorithm isn't magic
