Ataturk should have happened sooner if it was so great

Egypt was too tempting for Selim to ignore, and the trajectory changed. It was maybe for the best as far as Europe is concerned. Before that they were more West oriented.

Because the bulk far far West, eastern Europe was oonga boonga tier at the most, Ottomans wouldn't have survived if they had been located closer to West European colonial empires

The Ottoman Empire "outlived" the Austro-Hungarian one by like 16 months, dumbass.
And France was still fighting colonial conflicts into the 1970s

The truth is that all of Europe in the late 19th to early 20th century was sick. It was just easier to recognize in the Turks than it was with its fellow western great powers. The only western power that was getting objectively stronger with each generation was America, a non-European state.

Not all of Europe. Germany was growing by leaps and bounds economically and industrially until WWI.

the German Empire political system still remained very archaic, in addition to having dug it's own grave by alienating all major great powers against her

Irrelevant. All (major) wars are banker wars and has been the case since Napoleon. Assassinating a popular dynast is an easy one to pull off, and a convenient excuse.

There has never once been a "banker's war." I can't believe people are still repeating lolbert talking points from 2010. Liberalism lost, the free market lost, it's over buddy. Those ideas will never be relevant again.

homie, bankers hate wars, because they frick with economies, and investments, lead to people withdrawing lots of money in fear, etc. You aren't one of those morons who still believes that wars are "good for the economy" are you?

Where do you think bank money comes from? You think they just shit it out, wash it, and then stick it in vaults? You think they sneak into the mint when Jerome Powell isn't looking and fill up as much bags as they can?

I’m finding it difficult to understand what the Ottoman Empire was supposed to look like if the Tanzimat was successful. It was a very heterogeneous state compared to European empires. If secularization were to complete, there wasn’t an ethnic identity they could’ve easily pivoted to (like half of the empire didn’t speak Turkish) and the dynasty was the only institution unifying everyone.

Yes he was powerless you mongoloid. He had no janissaries thanks to his predecessors. What is an Ottoman sultan without janissaries? Not much. If you were smart, you would have mentioned Kosem or Hürrem even. Abdo is not the hill you want to die on when discussing Ottoman decline. Not only are you wrong, you are wrong by 4 fricking centuries. And I will stay as long as I please. Cope, seethe, and you know the rest.

Also the janissaries were a dead weight on the state who opposed military reform by the late 1500s. How the frick is murdering Osman the Young and Selim III loyal and faithful? If they were so useful by the time they were disbanded, why couldn’t they put down the Greeks?

Because those sneaky Greeks hired their Albanian neighbors to do the fighting and Janissaries didn't want to shoot at their cousins. What a dumb question, by early 19th century they had already degraded. But the degradation was not entirely self-inflicted and it wasn't irreversible either.

HRE was established in 800 and abolished in 1806, a period of over one thousand years; Ottoman Empire was established in 1299 and abolished in 1924, a little over six hundred years.
