Best Ethernet Cables

I need some plenum cables and some high-quality ethernet cables, terminals, and keystones. Some high-quality tooling would also be nice. I don't want to break the bank with this project, but I'm sick of having ethernet cables get in the way everywhere I go in my apartment. I have made my own ethernet cables before successfully, so I'm familiar with the process. I would also like this all to naturally be a bit future proof, so people living here in the 40s won't complain about slow ethernet.

Which companies should I buy? Could I buy in smaller bulk, since I don't really need that much plenum cable? What about the tools for attaching connectors and keystones? I already have some, but although they work, they seem to be pretty low quality and not sufficient for higher quality ethernet cables.

Cat6a is more than enough for the foreseeable future, as it easily does 10Gbps and can run at up to 40Gbps or higher in short runs. if you want to "future proof", then run multimode fibre and leave an ONT attached to a network closet as part of the house. but even that will be outdated eventually. the only real way to ensure compatability in the future is to add conduit and pull strings so you can replace the cables when they stop being relevant.

How long do you think this would last inside a house?

Until the 2040s? With Cat6a, you should be able to transport terabyte-sized files within a day.

what do you mean? like physically degrading? idk, fricking forever? Cat6a is shielded and braided with a hard plastic spline, they are basically as durable as you can get without getting the meme "armored" cables. wire them in to the jacks rather than using keystones and it'll be good forever.
don't fall for the cat7/8/9 memes, they offer the same specs as cat6a just with either slightly longer distances or requiring metal plugs etc.

just buy like 100' of cable and terminate it yourself, it'll be significantly cheaper. you can get 100' rolls of cat6a for about as many dollars from bulk suppliers

do this instead of using keystones that have a female RJ45 on each side with pre-terminated cables

Do you have a link for the ones you want me to use? Will they allow for maximum performance with Cat6a or limit the performance?

I'll soon have to run an Ethernet cable in the wall from the router to the computer, so far my plan was to have terminated with two male keystone. What is the convenience of having the type in your pic?

I've read that different CAT cables need different terminals and to be attached differently, and the same thing goes for keystones.

every UTP/STP cable going into RJ45 is wired the same way regardless of cat. the cat rating refers to the twist rate and some specify a spline or shielding, it has nothing to do with the jack pinout.

Does Cat6a cable change with time? Could I just get 1000 feet of this stuff and just store it away? 100 feet seems to be about a bit more than 1/4th the cost of 1000 feet. Also, is this listing legit for Cat6a plenum? This stuff would be run under floors.

yeah sure and it'll be outdated in 10 years when we all move on to cat7 or cat8 as the new standard when 25G-baseT becomes commom
