Calling Gnome Developers

Any Gnome developer here?

How am I supposed to quit/exit discord and steam if there is no tray icons of them? And they aren't on your "background apps" section on your quick settings menu either.

No dash to dock, no 3rd party extensions, no themes, no X11 and I will do whatever you want.

I have KDE on my desktop, but its support for touchscreen is pretty shitty, which is why I have to use gnome on my laptop, as that is slightly less shit.

explain the shitiness of KDE on a touchscreen (it works fine for me) - and how GNOME does it better (it doesn't do things better)
            and report bug(s) to KDE

I like how GNOMEgays argue against bloat when they use full fledged (arguably) DE instead of WM. moronic argument, but that's their only cope for devs removing features.

Step 1. Right click the task bar. Click on the Task Manager context menu entry.
Step 2. When Task Manager opens, click on the "Processes" tab.
Step 3. Find Discord.exe in the list and click on End Process.

the magic of GUI is that you can either do it the "expert" way like that, or you can navigate slowly with the mouse, hovering over items and reading tooltips and discover features as you go. No need to read some gay man page or look up "how to do XYZ in poobuntu"

all the people I talked to who ever liked gnome were either brown or brazilian, which is even worse than being brown, in my humble opinion. They only care about aesthetics but never about usability, they shill they crap endlessly but never use anything besides a web browser. People buy into their crap thinking they are legitimate linux users.

            >GNOME is literally unusable, why is this shit the default on so many distros?
I have no idea. I don't dislike the original concept of Gnome because it can feel like it's smooth (yeet mouse in corner or bottom edge, have access to everything at your fingertips, it just FLIES like a dick in a well lubri- I'll stop here), but it's slowing down people too much and the idea of "leveling the playing field" between power-users and normal users is the most moronic shit I've ever heard someone mutter, especially if you have functionality missing that would BENEFIT the normal users like drag and drop.

            It's just utterly fricked.

          Anonymous

Is not fixed on Gnome 45.4 as well, and it won't be fixed on 46, they say they need to update the fileroller (the thingy that opens compressed archives) to gtk4, then they have to create a portal so that the file on the fileroller can be copied to nautilus because of wayland and sandboxing or whatever.

This is certainly one of the problems of Gnome. You have to wait a long time for pretty basic functionality because until is perfect and up-to-date with the rest of the system they won't ship it, is always like this they delay the adequate in favor of perfect and the end result is you don't get anything for years.

It was the same thing with filepicker thumbnails and is being the same thing with, dynamic triple-buffering, VRR, fractional scaling.

      >Programs will only appear on 'Background App' section if they have been installed as flatpaks
      what a fricking lunacy.
      WTF?
how does installation method can matter?
are gnome devs mentally ill and crazy? (yes, they are)

gnome developer here. i love communism and suck massive wiener, as a man myself. you see, system tray doesn't fit the vision we, and by we, i mean me, and my homosexual ways, have for gnome.
if you wish for a disgusting system tray then i would encourage you to migrate over to kde. its a desktop environment more suitable disgusting capitalist heterosexuals.

Switching to KDE as we chuckle at the other footgays, I'm sick of this Mac wannabe shit. KDE has its own problems but aside from the workflow on laptops in gnome, it's a pile of shit. Guess I can just configure KDE to mimic that workflow.

I did that. It's not that hard. Also you will get a bonus of app menus on topbar like macos.
