It scan behavior of processes against a list of know xploitation methods and probably hashing files to scan in the cloud.
What do you do for work? Probably your workload isn't EDR friendly or you should ask IT to put exceptions on know processes like databases and shit

nta but this. I once installed postgresql locally and the performance was terrible, like taking over a minute to run a query that only takes a few seconds, if not 1. I asked my friends at IT about it and they added an exception for pgsql, and after a few minutes it started behaving like normal again

Its a great endpoint manager but not perfect, back in 2022 I could create 4 scripts that could uninstall it without crippling the system, we were deploying it on my company machines.
They keep patching all the ways wich I used to uninstall it so I gave up after v4 but I guess more expert people could bypass it if they wanted.

Working there was ok, a few godsend engineers work there.

It logs and intercepts processes instead of files. This makes it more lightweight than AVs and more effective at stopping modern malicious processes. It is #1 by MITRE Engenuity's benchmarks in almost every category.
It's overpriced however. You can get a lot of the features for half the price through some competitors (BD gravity zone). They overcharge for being the best but most companies aren't attacked enough to need to be the best.

can this allow the IT people know I don't actually use the AD user (except for when I need to change its password) and instead do everything on a local admin one?

      Anonymous

Yes, it has one of the best detailed logs ever, every command, from wich user, what shit you copy to usb drives if they are enabled, process launch tree, etc
The fact you have admin rights on your device means your IT department is moronic. Why don't you make your own user part of the local administrators group?

        Anonymous

they're kinda lax with dev machines.
my user does have admin rights, but the previous AV we had would randomly activate in the middle of the day, bringing cpu usage to >50% and making everything slow to a crawl, and it's fricking annoying
        >The fact you have admin rights on your device means your IT department is moronic
kinda. one time I asked if I could do a fresh install of windows and just bring them the device to put it in the domain and the IT guy I was talking to agreed.
        he of course told me
        >don't forget to delete the local user you created after you finish moving your stuff over
after 5 minutes of using that (fans sounding like a jet engine, probably the first full-scan; corpo assigned monthly wallpaper, I think it was some pride bullshit; etc) I just logged off and forgot about it.
