Christians. i am asking one simple question. its simple and clear cut. how did a freemason get to the papal office in the middle of the last century? next question is, does not this fact alone disprove all of christian, protestant, and orthodooox teaching? how can a man who thinks god is evil, speak for him? pic unrelated, just for keks.

you're mistaken and confused by Catholic apologia, the first Christians were not Catholics, and papists didn't exist until much later:

        >During the Early Church, the bishops of Rome enjoyed no temporal power until the time of Constantine. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire about 476, the medieval papacy was influenced by the temporal rulers of Italy; these periods are known as the Ostrogothic Papacy, Byzantine Papacy, and Frankish Papacy. Over time, the papacy consolidated its territorial claims to a portion of the peninsula known as the Papal States. Thereafter, the role of neighboring sovereigns was replaced by powerful Roman families during the saeculum obscurum, the Crescentii era, and the Tusculan Papacy.

you're referring to something from the 6th or 7th century

ok well. the word catholic, as i just read on wikipedia, was first recorded shortly after 100 ad. thats the first record. but, of course, it must have existed before that. you are saying the pope was made up. he was, i suppose. but the word catholic appears to us not even fifty years after the death of the last apostle. so what is your answer to this info?

it's just a Greek loan word that has changed meaning over time to refer to the political organization of the Roman church, early usage does not mean early Christians were Roman Catholics.

ok but im not talking about roman catholic, im talking about a idea of a catholic church that has the mystery of christ within. if you say, a priest cannot forgive sins, or the bread and wine are not the flesh and blood of christ, then you are not in line with the christian, with the i suppose catholic, religion. you are something else.

Because people like Pius XII, Pius XI, and Benedict XV were negligent and allowed modernists to take over. Pius XII especially.

Which proves this line of apostolic succession is not real.

Nothing says a pope can't make imprudent decisions. Apostolic succession is real but as of now there's no ordinary jurisdiction of bishops or priests or popes and since the 60s the novus ordo bishops have not been getting valid holy orders. So if some bishop in a diocese excommunicates you, there's essentially no spiritual effect at all. It's null and void and so is his control over the diocese.

We had popes that bragged about touching little boys hundreds of years before this recent hoopla. If you think that person had authority given to him by Peter, you are on crack and need to un-program yourself.

And they went to hell. Aside from the spiritual, God also gives authority to every single government on the planet anon. The leader can be very immoral but God is putting them there to act on His behalf even for secular authority.

This is ridiculous. What about the Orthodox Byzantines who at times slaughtered Catholics?

It's God/Jesus that forgives sins. It's not the priest. If you want to use a priest as an intermediary via confession, okay, but that's just a function of the ritual Roman nature of Catholicism. It's not something actually required of the faith.

God allowed them to come to power in order to create martyrs. Similar with Nero.

As of now Francis is temporal leader but not a spiritual leader if it makes sense. God has given him temporal control over things.

Who choose Judas and made him an equal of the other Apostles? Jesus Christ.
