Mint and Fedora are the best distros while NixOS is the new Arch.

      install gentoo

Frick off, there's very few actual justified use cases for Gentoo nowadays.

Sorry but I'm black. This is the peak melaninated experience.

Why doesn't every ISO have this? Ubuntu 20.04 actually had it but it was removed in 22.04. I like the peace of mind it provides.

I hated gnome with a passion for a long time until I tried stock fedora. I did a total 189, it just werks and it's great. My only one complaint is that dnf is slow as shit but other than that nothing.

      >My only one complaint is that dnf is slow as shit but other than that nothing.
They will bring in dnf5 in Fedora 41. It's available to download right now if you want it.

      sudo dnf install dnf5
then use dnf5 instead of dnf in commands

I want to hate Fedora for fricking it up, but UEFI/SecureBoot is a fricking disaster so I can't get too mad at them.

You know, I use Fedora sometimes, but I always go back to Arch. Here's a list of things that annoyed me on Fedora:
    - Installer option limitations. I couldn't get it to do UEFI boot using the basic installer. If I'm going to have to do more to set it up, may as well use Arch.
    - My own package management obsession. dnf is an ok package manager, but I do not like that sometimes it leaves dependencies and there's no equivalent of pacreport --unowned-files which was something I had to script myself.
    - Even with rpmfusion, the repos are more limited than Arch repos which I found inconvenient at times.
    - I can get Arch exactly the way I want so I decided it wasn't worth adding Fedora on top of it.

I still need to try Silverblue though. I didn't like NixOS that much, but Silverblue sounds more like an immutable distro that I think is more appropriate as far as I understand. It seems really immutable not partially immutable but I may be wrong.

Not a huge fan of nixos nor nix packages. Not to cause infighting, they do things their own way. That's cool and all but it's just not feasible all the time. I needed prusa slicer. The one on nix is 2.5.0. Current version is 2.6 so my mk4 has no supprort. Fricks sake even snap has 2.6. I can enable snapcraft and all that on arch. Nix isnt for me.

I mean that's a package maintainer thing, not specifically a NixOS thing. My beef with it was that it is kinda partially immutable for nix-store and a few other directories and the rest is normal. My obsession doesn't allow me to accumulate garbage in the OS maintained directories.
