CONSEQUENCE FALLACY

The idea that not following Christianity will cause bad things to happen to you and society is a logical fallacy and form of doom mongering.

>follow my cult or you're going to hell
>follow my cult or society will collapse
>follow my cult or god/life will not be kind to you

These fear tactics are all they have left.

They will try to convince you everything bad happening is a result of leaving the faith while conveniently ignoring all the heinous crimes committed under their rule.

Your map shows Muslim countries having a more consistent belief in hell than the Christian ones

Only 58% of people in Turkey (a Muslim-majority country) believed in hell, which is lower than some Christian-majority nations like the United States (70%).

Are you blind, the map that you posted shows Turkey as dark red, with 90% believing, while the USA is orange with 60-70% belief. Look at what your posting before you embarrass yourself.

Not really, the afterlife in most Polytheistic religions is based on behaviour, with faith instead granting temporal benefits. Zeus won’t torture me forever if I don’t worship him, but he might decide to “let” me get killed well before my natural time or “let” my favourite son get struck by lightning.

    >Saying that if you push someone off a cliff there will be bad consequences is a fallacy!
Everything has consequences OP. Why not explain why what will happen is society will improve? Instead all you have is this weak of an argument?

I think op is criticizing an argument that goes something like this:
      >P1: if p is true, there will be bad consequences if you don't believe p
      >P2: you don't want bad consequences
      >C: p is true

true or not, it's practically effective

It's effective against lapsed Christians, not people who don't actually believe in god.

Essentially yes, even more simplified would be:
        >thing must be true otherwise bad thing happen
It requires some belief in something and you resist the desire to stop believing even when confronted with evidence because you fear the bad thing will happen.

Aren't you making a real fallacy not this fake one? You're appealing to authority. I'm saying that if I'm correct then yes denying God will have bad outcomes, so to say it's a fallacy for me to make that argument makes no sense.

Children think stove burners aren't dangerous, but we know they are. If nobody corrects those kids they will likely burn themselves. So the question is am I right or wrong?

No you don’t understand, it’s akin to telling kids the boogeyman will come for them if they don’t eat their vegetables.

No it's more like telling them black people will rob them if they dress well and walk in a ghetto unarmed.

    It's not a threat, it's just a simple fact.

If you reject God, the rest of your life will be AS IF you were burning in a lake of fire. Choosing to reject God is a mistake and you will suffer for it.

Heaven and Hell are not physical places, what a state of being. Those who love God experience heaven, Where the love of God envelopes them. Those that hate God experience hell, Because that’s the same love of God burns them.

No. Believing in the Bible, does the opposite. People know they are worse then trash, once they understand what Christianity means, and our only joyful because Christ is risen.

I agree but the concept of religion and its continuation is based entirely on bad logic and thousands of years later I do not see the merit in discussing it.
People raised on blind belief use bad logic almost exclusively. And as of yet I havent been able to find an effective strategy for dealing with them, cuz once they latch on to the logical fallacies deeply enough they think THEY'RE the logical ones, which is self-reinforcing bad logic which seems to be common nowadays. I keep hearing the solution is more discussion but in reality that doesnt seem to be working. Cuz they arent discussing. They attack and assault and blast and accuse and they dont really think. I dont know how to actually reach them. I only know theory and the theory isnt working.
