>wtf it feels like I'm using something made in 1998
Yes, that's the point. Modern software is cancerous. The only good "modern" software is the kind that tries to preserve older, better software while minimizing functionality and security obstacles. Obstacles, by the way, which were created by MODERN software due to its inherent tumorous nature.

have you ever actually used gnome classic mode. it's as well implemented as an april fools joke. you're better off turning the extensions on yourself.

Nah, Gnome classic has been buggy the last 5 years.

The debian + xfce I'm using right now is very comfy.

All I do to customize it is to delete panel 2. I don't like the bottom panel very much

The default bottom panel sucks, but it's nice once you make it behave like the macOS dock.

That is honesty all I would use if thunar was the default file manager

      What is wrong with thunar?

Couldn't be more right. Even if you want to use a tiling window manager the best play is to install XFCE or Mate first and then add the tiler.

Is basically impossible to frick up unless you go out of your way to be moronic. Is the same as taking panoramic Minecraft screenshots. The advancements of desktop Linux slowly makes Debian a stronger option every year.

      >the same as taking panoramic Minecraft screenshots

      could you explain this?

        Anonymous

I was vaguely refering to the act of taking screenshots with the intention of showcasing the terrain and world generation in general, though there's a b1.7.3 fork called "Better Than Adventure" that has a well built Photo Mode packed with features to take screenshots from multiple angles, even from a top-down perspective similar to what you'd find in old games like Tibia (that's called "isometric" screenshot).
