It wasn't axed, and there were never eight. It was always meant in its context as a lack of appreciation for the wonder of God's creation leading to the sort of listlessness you see in those who are depressed. It was decided that Sloth was a better word to encompass the intent.
Compressing the complexity of sin to a single word is hard, and they get distorted in common parlance over time. Lust, for example, is not supposed to be limited to sexual desire

      >Lust, for example, is not supposed to be limited to sexual desire
and this reveals how anti human these abrahamic genital mutilation and death cults are. as if the actual creator of the universe and everything wouldn't want his creations to experience his creation in full. as if the great uncaused cause could possibly be jealous of anything he created.

How does that even make sense? Is being sad supposed to be a sin too?

you should look more carefully into the meaning of words.
Being sad is different from giving up, if i was eating an icecrema cone on the beach with my bro and my ice cream ball cartoonidhly fell to the ground i would momentarily feel sad because i cannot eat the ice cream anymore.
Despair is different, it is lack of will.
You are now a jobber in 1970s america, your profession is of no relevance of the discussion. You suddenly lose your job, your wife and kids die in a car crash, your father dies to a heart attack and his debt is passed onto you. What you would feel then is despair, is it the feeling brought upon by the unrelenting cruelness of the world, despair is also a fleeting thing, there are 3 options out of despair. The first option is a possessing a fiery heart, the ability to rise even up and struggle even when ecerything is against you, even with no clear purpose, for the sake of it. The second option is suicide. The third option, for the [sloth]ful, is to wander aimlessly, alcohoe-girlsm, hard drugs, all means ancompassing.

Not rising out of despair is a sin because it spits on god's gift of life.

yeah but what would be considered rising up? earning dosh and paying the debts?

the writing in op's series is beyond atrocious, like barely above high school fanfiction levels and littered with crude sex jokes or stupid characters. The mysteries are nonsensical as well

I didn't finish even the prologue of the first game. I found it too on the nose, and noisy in that distinct way only the Japanese are capable of producing.

In the same way that the various Kei aesthetics are noisy, non-functional, and a response to other noisy and non-functional Kei aesthetics, these works try to tackle very serious topics while remaining wacky, campy, colorful, non-serious, or the ever present excuse of 'ironic'.

In my opinion, it doesn't work, both halves work against each other and it seems the whole world can tell except its authors and fans, who seem to like it because it is itself and distinct from other works that also claim to be themselves, much in the same way that all the Kei aesthetics claim to be themselves and distinct from all the other aesthetics and fashion(s) that exist.

They are an assault on the senses, all; and this is a text redeemed only because of the medium it chose to express itself through, a videogame. Press button and brain go haha, while the viewer, one who is not the player, receives a visual and auditory migrane. I wouldn't stomach this for all the otaku-BPD pussy in the world.

      >littered with crude sex jokes or stupid characters. The mysteries are nonsensical as well
if you dont like the mysteries or the humor theres no wonder you didnt like it, its not a book and its barely cohesive by vn standards, its all just there to give a satisfactory framework to the mystery solving.

I didn't finish even the prologue of the first game. I found it too on the nose, and noisy in that distinct way only the Japanese are capable of producing.

having this much to say after not finishing the prologue just makes it seem like youre one of those guys who feel left out by not liking a popular thing and want to take "revenge" by criticizing it harshly while carefully making sure you seem like you Get It

I know why I didn't like it, and much of what I didn't like about it I also disliked about other works in other products. I am not unfamiliar with VNs nor anime/manga, and the length of my post is not inappropriately long for a short review, are you that brainfried that you can't read through 4 paragraphs?

        >its not a book and its barely cohesive by vn standards, its all just there to give a satisfactory framework to the mystery solving
Even by your own review of it you say that the meat of it is just a stand-in for a real structure, a real plot, or even real characters. In my original post I said the only people who liked it were 'click button go haha' monkeys and you just said just that, but less derogatory.

          >I know why I didn't like it
being so adamant about this and typing up a mostly irrelevant critique of it after not even finishing the prologue is more like accidental psychoanalysis of yourself than anything resembling substance regarding what youre actually supposed to be talking about

The game itself is a mystery game focusing on unique mechanics while having a persona lite character interaction mode in the background, humor is also important which is always gonna be divisive. I can easily see people not liking that but attacking the writing as if the storyline itself is the appeal is just weird considering literally no one thinks that
Obviously good story vns with no gameplay have better writing, the story is the only aspect aside from the aesthetic

My whole post could be reduced to 'the story is nonsense and I don't like the outfits and colors', which could be considered accidental psychoanalysis of myself. You're entitled to your opinion and I'll respect it, I'll stop banging on your door telling you your taste is shit, now.

It's a mix of her being based off a fashion scene in Japan where the trend was to dye your hair blond and look more foreign while also just playing up the hotness angle.
