I can actually switch between bluetooth and the dongle pretty seamlessly with the Thinkpad keyboard, which is more than enough

bought a $30 HP prodesk mini with skylake processor (equipping 64GB ram/1TB SSD and using nvme for eGPU). I didnt want to spend ~$150 on a modern skylake processor that cant upgrade their ram.

I prefer the Logitech K400 but yeah overall super comfy living room PC performance. Get an N100 mini pc and it's around $200 total for a top quality experience.

Looks good, anything more compact? I have one of those mini keyboards that are the size of a remote, but it is a pain to use and I want more battery life.

No recommendations for more compact, but in regards to battery life I'll say that I've used a k400 for about 7 years now, for a few hours each week, and it's still using the same pair of AAs it came with.

Its what I bought for my HTPC to stream shit on my bedroom and living room TVs. Cheapest possible wireless mouse and keyboard. $300-400 miniPC. Its silent and the worst part about it is windows sleep is broken. Sometimes the mouse wakes it up, sometimes it just doesn't. I click sleep and the mouse detects movement as I set it aside and instantly wakes it up again. I don't think anyone at windows uses the sleep function and couldn't be bothered to fix it.

Started using my piclone for hobbies after work since me gubmn went full moronic with utility prices as of late and it's not that bad.

Just disable the mouse being able to wake the PC from the Devixe Manager?

I didn't know that was possible, but also I'd like it to not ignore the mouse forever in order to wake the computer sometimes. If I'm in bed and want to wake the computer, I just want to click the mouse a couple times and have it start up. There just needs to be like a 5 second or greater buffer from when I click "sleep" in the start menu that it ignores the mouse altogether.

Again, if I click sleep and place the mouse on my nightstand, ottoman, or whatever ANY movement inputs wakes the computer. Its a stupid behavior I can somewhat mitigate by holding the mouse in the air and turning it off, however I think that prohibits it from waking sometimes.

I'd argue a tablet is better if you don't mind it's limitations compared to a desktop, but this is a very comfortable setup either way. I prefer the tablet since it's portable and convenient, it can connect to the TV through HDMI or wireless, it can connect to a monitor, or a keyboard case, it turns into a desktop or laptop seamlessly, and I can even use it as a handheld with a controller.

If I had to use something instead of a tablet, I'd go for a compact PC like this one, especially for the OS experience, since iPadOS and Android do still feel limited in comparison to desktops' OS.

for most people, just a tablet, hence part of why tablets have taken over

    but for me:
