Actually coincidentally I give catbox.moe $1 a month on patreon.
I've also donated to the Tor Project a few times, and during the first round of fundraising I gave z-lib $200, which actually made me one of the top donors during that round.
Can't think of services more deserving than z-lib and catbox.

catbox is funded by its secret club discord clique that creeps all over the files you've uploaded. pretty sure they've been involved in stunts that deanonymized certain people via their IPs too long ago.

and catbox is completely inaccessible over tor. forget uploads, you can't even look at shit over exit nodes.

A difficult problem for sure. Single host to many clients just wasn't built to scale, but at the same time stagnating IPv6 adoption prevents us from using truly powerful p2p filesharing systems.

p2p wouldn't have succeeded if it just had ipv6. the peering isn't the issue, but the anonymity and guarantee that someone else isn't gonna swat the frick out of you just because you webtorrent seeded some file to/from the wrong guy.

          >With where we are with automation today
First of all, AI isn't intelligent. It is only good at memorization and pattern recognition. We have robots that could do backflips but can't perform meticulous tasks with precision in a physical space. Even if we were to have near perfect AI and robots capable of doing anything and everything under the sun, they would still require maintenance and bug fixes that only a human could deal with. They are simply a reflection of our imperfect nature. We as imperfect beings create imperfect tools, because at the end of the day, they are just that: tools. I already know just how illogical and delusional most communists are in regards human nature scarcity and resource management, so I'm not even going to continue to speak to you. All i can tell you is that you can never engineer people to be 'better' because by merely interfering with human nature, you make it worse.

I was referring more to picrel kind of automation. Somehow growing cereals costs almost nothing, the farmers get almost nothing for selling it, but somehow costs a dollar a pound to me in the store. Something's amiss. The neighbouring country over the same bag costs less than half that.

            Anonymous

            >I was referring more to picrel kind of automation.
The problem of maintenance still applies. There is a hundred thousand people behind getting those replacement arts manufactured and shipped. There are about 6 others that need to schedule the maintenance for it. If you replaced all of those people with robots, then the cost of operations would drastically increase due to the fact that they will need maintenance as much as the machine that they're trying to fix.

            >Somehow growing cereals costs almost nothing, the farmers get almost nothing for selling it, but somehow costs a dollar a pound to me in the store. Something's amiss.
You're paying for the processing and transportation of your cereal. It gets processed, packaged, and labelled before changing hands 6 times after which it gets long hauled to your local grocery store. Same with water except you'd be paying for filtration and quality assurance on top of bottling and transportation. Supply chains are an important thing to think about especially if you're a gommunist. There are incentives and disadvantages to everything and you'll never be able to chalk it up to "muh capitalist propaganda". Denial of reality is the dumbest thing you could do. Don't do it no matter how comforting it may feel.

Does packing and putting wheat on a ship make it a hundred times more expensive? I don't think so. There's a reason groceries over here are making over 7% margin

            >Does packing and putting wheat on a ship make it a hundred times more expensive? I don't think so.
You may not think so, but it does because everyone who is involved with the packaging and shipping supply chains are being paid from the fees that the companies charge from suppliers and grocery stores. Everyone from the employees to the head of operations are being paid. They aren't going to do it for free. Also, it doesn't make sense to complain about 9-5 jobs while also saying that people should provide you with services free of charge. It really just seems as though you simply don't like the fact that you have to work to live comfortably while you'd rather subject others to toil so you can have a full belly. This is why i including many other people hate communists. Communists are the same fat cat bourgeois people that they claim to be against. You don;t want to change the system, you want to eliminate your competitors and take everything for yourself. But you see, you can't so that yourself and you don't want to. So what better chance could you have other than to take advantages of a social or economic issue so you can convince a bunch of dumb workers to revolt and make you king?

But somehow the poorer country next to us is selling these bags for less than half of what we pay. We're also making some produce ourselves, for which we pay over 5€/kg, but after exporting the neighbouring poor country citizen pays 0,70€/kg. I can't find any other reason for this than the prices are made up to ehat they think we can pay as opposed to what it costs to make. We have to eat to live, so we don't have a choice, and they know that.

Indeed, the entire social program for distributing bare necessities is just a couple % of the budget. The complete trainwreck of current healthcare system is the major cause right next to the penson system.

See the govt thought it a great idea to mandate for minimum personnel for any one place, but didn't restrict buying them from outside. Since every doctor ever realized they could just quit their job at the municipality and sell their work for 10x what they were getting paid previously (because municipality still required by law to get them for any cost), the costs shot up to the moon.

I feel this is a mischaracterization. What I'm against is the mass profiteering of the few while millions still see hunger. There are very few food chains in existence. They can fix prices however they see fit. How many times more efficient is a modern factory farm compared to even a century ago? Yet somehow the amount of work an average person needs to do to eat doesen't seem to be decreasing much. Rents somehow magically always find a way to increase to ~30% of what you're making regardless of how much it really is.

hiroshima should standardize file limits and enable audio on all boards so the same files can be posted on any board. having different webms that can only be posted on certain boards is gay af. it also results in people re-encoding to 3-4 MB and stripping the audio, which someone else will save and then it'll eventually get posted in its inferior form on wsg/gif again later. it's amazing how many times

people already constantly have to post shit to catbox/another board and cross link, or they use stupid workarounds like that userscript where you put a URL to the audio in the filename.
also dav1d is great at decoding and all mobile devices made in the last couple years have HW decode so he should also add AV1 support but we all know that'll take another decade.

i'm moronic and can't finish my gay posts.
it's amazing how many times I see a 3MB webm with no audio on wsg/gif that I already have saved at 6MB with audio.
not to mention that 3MB webm is not only smaller but was also likely re-encoded from the 6MB one which was already re-encoded from some youtube video that was re-encoded when it was uploaded and so on.

Why on earth would they block catbox?

some Black person blocked a bunch of websites here. mega is blocked unless you use the TLS secure version, catbox is blocked. some link shorteners were also blocked for some reason and all of this they claim "CP/CSEM" when in fact they even blocked shit like nozomi.la and rentry.org so I couldn't read the AI entry unless I use a web proxy so I could train AI shit.

holy shit. VPN is already no go since they outright ban you if that VPN service uses http payload or other censorship circumvention (apparently their middlebox for data metering needs untouched payload so you get blocked if your VPN provider/service does). philippines is no fun but you know there's another ISP that don't do this and I'm planning on doing that since this Smart ISP piece of shit keeps on blocking a lot of websites especially anime ones (catbox and nozomi). iirc they even blocked kissanime but that site was long gone..

starlink costs about USD50/mo and I'm thinking on just going that way if they relentlessly keep on blocking more anime websites. not sure about torrenting stuff with starlink though, they seem to cooperate a lot with these fricking copyright c**ts.

Probably best to atleast use a VPN if you're risking your only other choice by pirating. I find it really strange anime websites are being blocked. Usually almost no copyright holder has access to their licensing and rarely leads to dmca type letters. Anime compresses really well and consumes only a tiny fraction of bandwidth of contemporary movies of similar quality. Makes no sense to block it from technology perspective.

I guess with the anime it's about blocking alleged child porn, not copyright considerations.
I think porn is even banned in general in a good number of Asian countries.

I heard the ISPs cut a deal with facebook to intentionally throttle all other sites and charge premium to access them

I just came back from the Philippines. It's true. There is absolutely no net neutrality there. There are weird deals with Globe and Smart cellular plans that are centered around premium access to Facebook. This is what the American telecom cartels want.

Avarice sets in quickly I must warn you. Once you have money, you suddenly want to hold onto it and have even more. There's a reason students tend to lean politically to the left and move towards the right once they start having money

Once to the Eclipse Foundation cuz it randomly asked. I like their ide because it's portable.

no. google uses debian in datacenters and if they donated 1 million dollars to everyone who contributed to the linux kernel, it wouldn't even be a fraction of their last year's profits. this is valid for most corporations.

They can afford to live without them, so paying them doesen't necessarily give corporations anything. I need foss, so I have to make sure it stays there.
