I still own an RX580, don't need more for the games I currently play.

Tripple gay tittles are all about gfx but with shallow gameplay, why would I ever ... ?

The 580 was great, but in AMD fashion, the 480 and 580 were the response to the GTX 970 and it took them over a year to release it after the GTX 970.

I am never upgrading from my 1060 6gb, when it dies, I will get another. I bought it cheap, listing said temperature issues, repasted it, and the temps are fine. Runs furmark stress test all day.

You lads are effectively running office PCs with pretty lights, aren't you? I bet you still have 10 year old CPUs too, lmao.

Lights no, and my 4790k is ten years old this year, still kicking ass. Good call on that one. At least it's not a i5 2500k that they constantly shill on here.

cpu sucks ass by now, had one until 2020.
10xx series still going strong though, never had games that wouldn't run on 1080p ultrawide with 60fps+ on my 1070.

nah, 1060 and 1070 was pretty exact the same bang for the buck back then.
1060 was 300 bucks, 1070 400 bucks while being around 25% faster. Chose the 1070, still working great.

It's been listed as a minimum-spec card for a some newer titles, still playable (in 1080p) for most everything else that came before.

It supports DirectX 12 so it should run the latest games, but you'd still probably have to turn down the settings quite a bit and enable FSR to get hopefully bearable performance.

      >It supports DirectX 12
Sort of, it supports it the same way 10 series hardware, or pre-GCN hardware, or some Intel hardware does.
It works because of driver hacks, but the hardware can't really handle it.

GTX 970 still has driver support? in 2024?

About as much support as Pre-GCN AMD hardware does. Maybe less.

10xx = only nvidia generation not to be crippled by vram over the years.
