Does not help unless we have several years worth of data. What if there was a spike of people entering IT due to WFH during Covid, and now they are leaving?

You just keep getting more and more senile.

I am senile? You forget the "Koding with Kharlie Khaplin" and the millions of fools who spent $$$ to be in those 4-week bootkamps? Do you think those people found a permanent career in IT?

That's the number of opened positions homosexual not the number of people looking for a job

This is why I'm getting the BS and MS and going government job. The government never downsizes. You don't have to work hard. Incompetence is rewarded. Just get that GS-11 masters level position and do nothing and worry about nothing.

I'm stably employed with 6 figure salary and fully remote
I want to find a better job because management here sucks but I have to count my blessings. I'll probably just stick it out until the market improves.

weird I am getting interviews now though I do frick them all up. Didn't get any at all previously so as a long term neet without job experience its been kinda difficult but at least HR doesn't filter me anymore.

Yeah I think the market has largely recovered from the crash last year, probably because so many people have given up.

I’ve been unemployed for a few months and I’ve been getting interviews, but they’re nearly always predatory in some way. For instance, the last place I interviewed with wanted someone to take on the workload of two people with tons of overtime. And another that I got an offer from lowballed the salary to a ridiculous extent and refused to negotiate. And another just had some extremely long “assessment” project midway through the interview process that would take a minimum of 10 hours (I withdrew my candidacy at that point, I’m not doing unpaid work for the chance at maybe moving to the next interview round).

    >internet is just youtube instagram Amazon tiktok and some streaming/fincrap sites to 99 percent society
    >microsoft and apple maybe need a dozen people to apply minor GUI changes for "new" windows/mac version, no one that needs to actually work on updoots or security cause no one cares and data collection helps them anyway
    >maybe a dozen giga autistic 150 iq no gf furries that fap to hentai with math PHDs to make new cryptography for internet so peoples bank accounts/investments arent wiped by some rogue malware
    >surely we need a few million more people to coooode

Entire tech sector probably needs only a few hundred people at most

What are some good books/resources to learn more advanced programming concepts

I am literally stuck at just the basics. for my degree I have taken three (3) intro to programming courses (all of which were considered "required") and I have yet to get into more advanced programming concepts. I want to do that myself now because obviously I am never going to learn anything from college when all they do is give me intro courses in different languages.

Master the fundamentals first. It's like in music if you wanted to learn to write with modes before you master regular major diatonic song structure and how to apply chord extensions there. You wouldn't just skip ahead to bill evans modal jazz before you understand regular pop music.

I've done enough fundamentals. I know everything about variables and inheritance and interfaces. I need to move on

you work on a problem and try to solve it thus getting better and better. Nice problems is writing a simd raytracer or database engine. Spreadsheets are nice as well if you implement support for unlimted cells to btfo excel.

but you're also up the 4 years of graduates looking to compete for the shrunken amount of jobs, numbnuts. it'd be a different story if you had the same job pool and same number of applicants as before

You know most of these were React devs in bullshit jobs, the market is in a recession so naturally the bullshit jobs go first. The peak demand during covid was completely unnatural.
