      The coloring looks fake.

There are depictions of Pharoahs killing "Asians" (people from West Asia like Canaan) in battle, and they are darker skinned than the Asians, but they were not black per se.

Both Nubians and Egyptians today have darker skin than what you would find in Iraq or Syria, but they are different than sub saharan african.

They're in this middle ground where they don't fit 100% into the racial categories we have today, much like many people in central asia today.

Just say they were mixed moron. No need to write an entire book about it. There's a reason why egypt was divided into two kingdoms.

          Anonymous

They weren't "mixed". Their genes aren't a mix of a West African and European or Arab. They're genetically between these different groups. That's very different.

            Anonymous

they're not genetically inbetween those groups, north africans are genetically simply inbetween middle easterners and africans
not africans middle easterners and europeans

you can see the egyptians as the most african shfited in the middle eastern cluster only northwest africans, like the berber mozabites from algeria or the tunisians(in red in this pcas) are more african shifted

the drawing is fake, but egyptians hated both semites and berbers, whom they painted as whiter than egyptians, and also hated nubians, whom they painted as black

egyptians saw themselves as different racially from both lybians and caananites, and also from nubians. iirc Tutankhamon had a drawing of a nubian and a drawing on a syrian (semite) on his sandals, that meant, he was always stepping on nubians and semites

To be fair, painting males with a deep reddish hue was common among Mediterranean civilisations, the Egyptian paintings have a hue that matches the color of modern "Abyssinian" peoples, while the color of the "Lybians" and "Asiatics" match the color of modern Coastal Berbers and Levantines, and the Nubian color matches modern Nilotes'.

I don't think Ancient Egyptians were Ethiopian-like though, Yemeni-like was more likely. I do think Ancient Egyptians (just like the modern ones) were darker than both Coastal Berbers and Levantines, but their colouring was likely a stylistic choice to make them stand out more from their neighbours and enemies.

the "libu" or better translated the tehenu were not berbers, there's no concrete proof of it, and even if they were berber speakers, there's zero chance that people that lived in eastern egypt did not resemble people that lived in morocco, sorry

No one was talking about Moroccans, schizo. Did you forget to take your meds today?

no, libyans were depicted in various ways, these are just artistic depictions, they're subjective (the author may have personally seen a darker libyan and depicted him dark or vice versa), or they may be subject to artistic standards, and they hardly are representative of modern coastal berbers anyway, those guys had likely zero or trace digits of iberomaurusian admixture like the egyptians living a few kilometers from them, the modern berber profile is a middle bronze age creation
modern coastal berbers also have brown skin and are genetically more related to eritreans and ethiopians than to people in northern europe

          >no, libyans were depicted in various ways,

was clearly talking about the famous "Races of the World" portrayal, the one from the tomb of Seti I.

          >modern coastal berbers also have brown skin and are genetically more related to eritreans and ethiopians than to people in northern europe
Nothing to do with my reply, that colour range the Egyptians chose for the Themehu and the Aamu was probably meant to represent swarthy tone, like the skin colour of those Italians for example, this range of skin tone roughly matches Coastal Berbers and Levantines too.

            Anonymous

Modern coastal berbers are a middle bronze age creation, those Libyans from eastern Egypt were unrelated to berbers and likely similar to the egyptians living a few kilometers away from them with no natural barriers and as you said depicted in various ways, there's no reason to mention them
Egyptians were similar to modern Egyptians and berbers are dark featured

I'm only mentioning them because this

the drawing is fake, but egyptians hated both semites and berbers, whom they painted as whiter than egyptians, and also hated nubians, whom they painted as black

egyptians saw themselves as different racially from both lybians and caananites, and also from nubians. iirc Tutankhamon had a drawing of a nubian and a drawing on a syrian (semite) on his sandals, that meant, he was always stepping on nubians and semites

anon mentioned them, besides without samples our reference are modern Berbers and modern Egyptians themselves.

            > this range of skin tone roughly matches Coastal Berbers and Levantines too
coastal berbers are significantly darker and more africanized, coastal berbers look like egyptians
there's no proof that the tehenu spoke a berber language and even if they did they wouldn't resemble genetically the berbers from morocco or algeria, so no point in even bringing up coastal berbers

            >if they did they wouldn't resemble genetically the berbers from morocco or algeria,
Again, you have issues, no one but you is talking about Morocco or Algeria.

I imagine both the "Lybians" and the "Asiatics" were roughly the colour of swarthy people like pic related, but I don't think Ancient Egyptians weren't much darker either.

            >and berbers, whom they painted as whiter than egyptians, and also hated nubians, whom they painted as black
            >egyptians saw themselves as different racially from both lybians and caananites, and also from nubians.

They were probably just slightly darker than the Lybians and the Asiatics, just like a Yemenis are slightly darker than Coastal Berbers and Levantines.

We have samples from close western Egypt with no natural barriers separating them, we have samples from morocco from extremely late neolithic that show berbers not even existing back in those days
Modern berbers including the coastal ones are as dark as Egyptians or more if we want to go by their modern references
They are not relevant to the argument
