Faith Alone

>John 5:24
>Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Wow, that means everyone in this pic is saved and will not come into judgement.

Even the BTK serial killer is saved because he was a good standing member of the church.

Why? Not doing the commandments is sinning. And Jesus died to pay for their sins. They're covered.

Jesus died for the sins that they commit in trying to keep the commandments in good faith that's what sacrifices did in the Old Testament

There are some things that are "hard" in Christianity to follow and there are some things that are "easy" to follow.

When God said that homosexual acts are a sin.
When God said a man is a man and a woman is a woman.
When God said that marriage is between a man an a woman.

These things are "easy" to follow. Whatever you have the power to follow you should follow. He's not saying you can only get saved by following all of them but you must admit that these things are the objectively true ways of existence.

If nothing else, if nothing else, if you know you are sinning, why would you take a group picture of yourself approving of it, come on.. Christ is King, may he have mercy on our infinite depravity.

      Anonymous

Jesus died to pay for all that so that you don't have to follow it. Why are you preaching to follow the Laws of the Old Testament? Are you a Pharisee?

        Anonymous

No Jesus did not die so we didn't have to follow it.

He died so when we break a rule we don't go to hell.

But we still ought to follow it, it is still the truth, we're just forced to admit we are such deplorable pieces of garbage we need God to have mercy on our depravity.

He never said "these truths aren't true anymore" he's just saying "you're so gosh darn weak you need me to forgive you for being unable to follow them all the time"

          >He died so when we break a rule we don't go to hell.

So if I break them all, every day for the rest of my life, I still don't go to hell because he covered it. Nice.

If you admit what you're doing is a sin and you break them with a smile on your face then sure, if that's what it means for you to break a law of God, it's a really weird way of believing things. You know if I break a law of God I feel bad about it. I'm thankful God is merciful but I still feel like a piece of shit for spitting in his face when I do it.

            >John 20:31
            >but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

It says all I have to do is believe he was the Messiah in order to be saved. Why are you adding additional requirements? Why are you complicating what "belief" means?

What requirement am I adding? I'm just confused that when you see Jesus Christ literally tortured on a cross for your sake your reaction is "AWESOME LETS GO SIN WOOHOO" but hey that's your reaction?

            >What requirement am I adding?

That you must change your ways to be inline with the Mosaic Law in order to be saved.

I never said that, I'm just saying the laws of God never changed.

It's like you where to beat your grandmother to a pulp and she says "I don't hold it against you dear" and you somehow think that you continuing to beat the frick out of her is okay? Because she's not gonna call the police on you? Because she's nice? I don't understand the logic

            Anonymous

Because it's the right thing to do.
Because you're avoiding putting a bigger burden on Jesus.

You have to understand that Jesus would've never gone to hell for 3 days was it not for you and me being disgusting sinners, that's on us, if you don't feel the slightest bit of guilt about that I don't know what to say, if you can't comprehend the feeling of feeling guilt because someone got punished when you should've been punished I CANT MANIFEST THE CONCEPT OF EMPATHY INSIDE OF YOU BRO, YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD, WE SHOULD ALL FEEL BAD.

I don't doubt that Jesus will forgive these transgressions, but I feel bad that he has to do it.

When he went to hell he took upon him all sin that would ever be manifested in the future of those who laid it upon him, so yes the Jesus 2k years ago in hell is taking the punishment you deserved today.

The only reason he WENT to hell is because of sin? What sin? He lived a SINLESS life! It's OUR SIN the sin of HIS SERVANTS, he would've never spent a second in hell if not for us.

The demonic Catholic Church created "The Bible" by picking the books that would be in the canon that would give themselves the most power and control. Scholars have now shown which parts are forgeries.

Well then they picked the Gospel of John too.
Except wait, the Ethiopians and Armenians had Bibles before then and had much the same books in their New Testaments. Same for the St Thomas and Syrian Christians.

Hebrews 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,

Hebrews 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

I'm not a Christian, I personally believe in Reincarnation. I just find it funny that most Christians I know, both on the internet and real life, continue to indulge in reckless sin because they think they'll be saved just because they say "I'm sorry" at the end of the day.

        They couldn't be more wrong.
