Find an insanely wealthy philanthropist to yank it away from Google's funding, then fire all of the executives.

We don't. The only thing (You) can do is the 6'000'000th fork where you claim your version is better, then fade into obscurity.

Save the web instead. Then thousands of browsers will be able to coexist and you won't need any specific browser to be saved.

What annoys me is that if your administrative expenses are half your software development budget than you're not a software company, you're an adult daycare. I need to read a bit further, maybe there's a nuance I'm missing but this is triggering.

It was already saved by Palemoon. Palemoon took all of the good stuff (single process mode, XUL extensions), and continued it forward. Palemoon IS Firefox, and Firefox IS a shitty implementation of a chromium.

This. We just need to increase Palemoon market share to force sites to stop being Chrome only.

holy fricking shit. just run wireshark, portmaster and see for yourself. open up aboutLconfig, type in telemetry, health, clientID, pioneerprogram or toolkit.resist and furnish your knowledge and not your ignorance. it also relies heavily on safebrowsing.

Mozilla should fire the executives and management that don't do anything besides overpaying themselves along with any activists that work there. Then actually find a way to get off Google's pay roll. Only reason they have a deal with them is to avoid Antitrust like what happened with Microsoft and Internet Explorer. If they have to, stop being a corporation and become a non-profit that accepts donations. The donations right now only go towards the Foundation which is the activist wing (privacy rights, muh environment BS, anti-AI, etc). Then I'd say they should actually allow non-Mozilla employees to contribute similar to the Linux kernel. After all that, focus on Gecko and improve performance as well as tooling for webdevs. Once its close to being as good as Chrome, actually put out products that compete against Chromium based products such as reviving Positron and making it more lightweight than Electron or making/sponsoring a Node/Deno/Bun alternative like WinterJS.
