Why does every competent dumbphone add 60% more weight for the sake of "ruggedness"? Are they just assuming everyone who doesn't want a smartphone is a boomer blue collar project manager?

    >with no spyware
Irrelevant when the carrier literally dumps your calls and texts into an NSA datacenter. This is why dumbphones are peak Dunning-Kruger, you think it's safe simply because the device is simple, when in fact it's much worse for privacy because you have no way to encrypt your communication, such as an app like Signal.

the government buys data from all the corporations anyway, not to mention most of it is shared in the first place
you can't escape them unless you stop using technology completely
even then they will come shoot you in your homestead

Not even room to run anything in the first place.
I'm actually buying that one if I can get it here, I've been looking for a dumbphone for a while now to finally secure my privacy from google.

If only it supported the old SIM card format...

        Anonymous

Why is that important? Can't you just get a new smaller simcard from your provider? They come with the 3 adapter sizes to fit into any phone now, at least here they do.

Because I have unregistered large SIM cards from before communists forced new cards to be in a database?

            Anonymous

Oh, well lucky you. We never had the option to keep those here. They abandoned the numbers of anyone that refused to switch. Now every number is registered to your national identity here. Nothing I can do about that.

So trim one down. The important bit's above the contacts, the plastic's just there to make it bigger. You can get a dedicated tool or just use scissors

Zoomer, old SiM cards can't be trimmed as the chip is bigger.

What is the best privacy friendly android tablet I can get to go with this phone?
Still have some android apps that are needed, but they can be left on a tablet that is turned off at home most of the time.
Just any tablet that allows the most privacy friendly android OS.

so many people with a threat target being the government here
simply treat your phone the same way you do your email, use it for nothing important and leave it at home when you go out
few people really needs to be reachable 24/7
you have other means for secure communication when its needed like session and signal
