Epik alleged his website hosted child pornography on twitter and their evidence was naked pictures of a 19 year old
      They're fricked

I just hope Caraballo or whatever the name of that ogre troony is gets shafted. With the moronic CSAM claim he made, I think he's got a solid case even when considering how tough the standards for defamation are.
The LFJ stuff is much more iffy. Best he can hope for is to save his moron chink friend.

kek that's the kind of defamation that can get you multimillion dollar settlements, especially since they publicly spouted it all over twitter

What is happening? Quick rundown for someone out of the loop?

Epik was a free speech focused domain registrar that hosted a ton of controversial sites for a long time
They were 8ch's registrar following the El Paso shooting and that got them a ton of negative press, so the CEO, Rob Monster, booted them got more touchy about what he would allow on Epik
There was an internal struggle in the company that led Rob Monster to be ousted as CEO and he was eventually replaced by someone named Bryan Royce
Bryan is a libertarian, so the Epik became a lot more chill for awhile
Rob still owned a majority of the shares though, so through some internal politicking with the board he got Bryan kicked out
Epik eventually started seizing domains of long time customers like Kiwifarms and the 'arty
About a month after this, the EpikLLC Twitter account said they had removed KF due to a government request which was a lie
They then claimed KF hosted child pornography and used a naked picture of a 19 year old as evidence
The owner of the Kiwifarms started asking around if he should set up a legal fund to sue Epik for defamation since their claims make it harder for him to get service providers in the future
The answer was yes and he opened the fund yesterday and today has over 100K earmarked for suing his enemies
Yesterday as well Registered Agents has announced that they have acquired Epik, and booting KF and the 'arty was them cleaning house before an acquisition
Registered Agents is now left holding the Epik defamation bag

Very nice, thanks. If that's the case, then I'll get some popcorn and follow the situation. Pretty ridiculous to make false accusations of child porn.

Remember that Musk accused some poor bastard of much worse, much more publicly, and won that case. I don't see this ending well for the farms. At least Null's lawyer should be able to afford a nice car now, though.

Is it about the Asian boys rescue diving thing? I didn't know that resulted in a court case.

            >and won that case
That's because in the US the standard for defamation/slander/libel is very very high. You have to actually demonstrate harm. He wasn't harmed because everyone knew he was a hero and Musk was just being an ass. KF has been kicked off multiple registrars, so they can demonstrate harm.

Yeah, unlike the UK, the US actually has the First Amendment and you're allowed to insult people or make wild baseless claims as much as you want. If it wasn't for the First Amendment, you probably would have seen the Apollo astronauts sue moon landing conspiracy theories for defamation and thank God we don't live in that timeline however funny it would have been.

I googled kiwifarms and saw a bunch of MSM articles all calling it anti-troony and "hate filled".

That's all I need to see to know that kiwifarms is in the right.

On one hand, the sharty is the most viciously moronic and malignant website I've ever seen. They're a menace to the frew web who constantly raid and DDoS other altchans for basically no reason, and I hope they all get AIDS and die
On the other hand, if the government and NGOs and corporations get away with turning the internet into a censored cuckland then we're all doomed anyway, so I guess I must root for them. Very sad!

Glad to see this since Fong was on the way to literally ruining the entire internet but now that he's smashed the goal I don't want to donate because he might use the excess funds to come after anime forums.

I don't use or even really like the Farms (GOSSIP is for WOMEN,) nor did I donate because I don't have the time to check for updates concerning how my contribution is put to work, but I also want that site alive as something of a statement, as an admistrator and e-girlcon/general degenerate.
How do I put this... even if they probably hate me, if sites that have done nothing wrong legally can't stay online because the socialtyrant demanded it be so, what hope do I have in any of my hopes to create "open airwave" philosophy services? Or even just to use what we have right now like Baraag or IQfy itself? "First they came for..."

The ridiculous thing is that kiwifarms isn't actually that bad. It only seems to affect mentally ill people that revolve their lives around the internet, an unhealthy practice anyway.
