I weigh 300+ lbs, sit in it for about 16 hours every day, and it has held up for four years. As far as I'm concerned it's already paid for itself.

Christianity is a cargo cult slave religion, perfectly adapted for the modern wagie.
"Turn the other cheek" refers to the practice of stealing office chairs, it is highly prophetic in nature.

The aeron is the memiest chair in existence. It's literally a wheelchair for disabled geriatrics except silicon valley hyped it up during the dotcom bubble to the point where most of the tech companies at the time did literally nothing but buy an office full of aerons and then go bankrupt. And now everything old is new again and guess how it'll fricking end.
Get a real chair made out of a real material and do some real work.

Get the biggest comfiest chair you can. It will last years.

The repair netting is $80. It lasts about as long as you'd expect 6-8 months. Theyre money pits.

I've had mine over a decade and it's 20 years old, with no real wear to the netting yet. There's a bit more of a sag, I guess, but it'll easily be another decade before I start worrying about it.

It's a home office meme. It discourages gremlin mode, so it runs counter to "your next posture is your best posture" philosophy in favor of presenting you as a good office drone.

Had mine for about 12 years now, before that, my dad stole it from work and used it in his home office for quite some time. I wouldn't pay for a new one, but if you can get one second hand in good nick, cheap, they're a great investment imo, really comfy, relatively affordable to fix, repair & customise the only thing that annoys me is that that after having it for so long the wheels leave this residue from the rubber breaking down on the floor I have to clean but its not so bad.

      >the wheels leave this residue from the rubber breaking down on the floor I have to clean but its not so bad.
Replace the wheels. Look for the rollerblade style wheels. Get the repairable ones with locks. Best and cheapest upgrade you can make.

Someone did the same thing I did and took off the arm rests. Absolutely ruins the whole point of the chair. It's supposed to be ergonomic. If you take off the arm rests then that goes out the window. It's the same thing as any other chair

50% meme but needs to be paired with a proper desk. When I use one at the office it's comfy. The one I have at home doesn't work well with my old tall desk, hurts my knees for some reason. I'm actually considering going back to a crappy old dining chair.

if you deal with back pain, it's well worth it, esp used at a decent price
people seem to think that a chair that costs >$300 needs to be the comfiest thing they've ever sat on, but that's actually not what you want, and it's a bit counterintuitive as to why
if you've ever crashed on the couch after a long day at work, no matter how comfy it is, eventually you feel the need to move around as pressure points begin to develop
the aeron feels extremely neutral, and it basically forces you to have good posture or you'll be super uncomfy. it provides just enough support to assist you in doing so, and that's it
so rather than feeling super comfy for an hour or so and then having to move about, if i didnt need to use the bathroom, i could develop serious blood clots by just sitting down for 8 hours straight
    now that's ergonomic
i no longer have back pain or stiffness when i'm done working, and it's so good that i bought an embody at full retail for home use
    no regrets

also do not expect a good chair, what youre paying for is the 10+ year warranty and service, not a good quality chair.

I got a used one from an office furniture liquidator, and I think they are over rated. I ended up taking the arm rests off of mine, which ruins the whole ergonomic thing anyway. Imo the best set up is a task chair with a motorized standing desk. Arm rests on chairs are a waste if you are going to be using a computer, but apparently a lot of people disagree with me

I have a Herman Miller Mirra 2 and it's a complete fricking meme. I always lean forward and to the right with the worst possible posture, never use the ergonomic back support, don't even find the chair comfortable at all.

It's a chair thread, so poorgays will tell you how their $100 ikea chair is so much better and richgays will tell you how spending $1500 on a chair changed their life.
If you can afford it, they are well worth the investment. Mine has been going for 10 years now.

They're great for lots of people but make sure you test one out first. For some reason they really cut off the circulation to my legs, no matter how much I re-adjust the chair. After 2 weeks I genuinely walked around with a limp. Redditors on r/HermanMiller will tell you "that's just your body adjusting to the chair!!" but I don't trust it. Not fat btw, 5'11 and 75kgs. Its just sitting in my garage now, waiting to be sold. They dont work for everyone.
