How can a meme country last more than a few decades, let alone centuries? This is like if MrBeast created a country and it lasted 1000 years.

Greeks would fall into the Latin category of Spengler’s denominations, not Faustian category

Helloooooo fricking dumb subhuman who has never read a book in his life.

Spengler would actually consider Byzantium to be a part of Magian civilisation along with Arabs, Hebrews and Persians after the Christianisation of the Roman Empire. You can consider them and early Christianity in general to a forerunner to Islam if you like, it seems Classical because the emerging Magian high culture was under Classical domination for so long during its formative centuries, it was unfortunately repressed and forced to express itself under a Classical framework in a lot of ways (Spengler calls this pseudomorphism).

But the way they thought about the world was very different from pagan Romans. Christianity orientalised the surviving East of Rome as the West collapsed. Consider the very similar architecture (the dome) which expresses the common world-feeling of the Magian soul (the world as a cave, under the firmament dome, under G-d, from Chaldean, Hebrew, etc cosmology), to be contrasted with the Classical soul (immediate space and euclidian geometry the Agora, doric columns, the temple) or the Faustian (the universe consists of infinite three-dimensional space which someone like Kant will say you are aware of a-priori, the first big Faustian architecture after the Romanesque in their springtime is Gothic cathedrals which have an emphasis on vastness, spires shooting up into space, vast interiors designed to have a humbling dwarfing feeling and good acoustics with awareness of space in mind) .

I wonder how an empire can last 1000 years and barely left ruins behind it

Simple: people build on top of the ruins, or else pull apart ancient buildings for materials to build new ones. This is why you don't see many Roman ruins in places like Britain, for example, despite Romans having large settlements there for centuries. Hadrian's Wall, for example, was picked apart by local farmers and used for building materials.

Shure, that doesn not explain why there are a lot of medieval ruins in Western Europe and Near East, and people there have not used them to

Everyone around them was actually weak af. With the exception early Arab caliphate they never had any real existential threat. They're supposed to be dominating their neighbors with the resources at their disposal but gayreeks can't into functioning government.
The Turks inherit the exact same geopolitical situation and basically btfo everyone in the victinity

The caliphate did stand an actual threat at first, but got BTFO at Constantinople, twice. After that they made the exact same mistake the Romans did and brought a shit ton of barbarians (in this case turks) to do their dirty work and eventually got devored by them as a result and also fricked over everyone else in the vicinity.

Always made me wonder why they never tried to actually hold onto more forts in the northern black sea coast. One of the first things the Turks did was begin to expand into it and get rich off the silk trade coming along there. Would have been lucrative no doubt and increase trade

The middle ages were cringe times, it makes sense that cringe countries last longer. In fact this may be normal always, think of how little Napoleonic Revolutionary France and Nazi Germany laster while being superior, as well as Alexander's Empire.

        So, just like Rome?

I actually don't know much about Byzantine. Was it basically the Greek continuation of Rome?

It was a part of Roman empire, eastern part of it. Imagine that your country consists of 2 regions - western and eastern one. Your western part is destroyed, does that mean that your country no longer exist? The same applies here.
        >Greek
Romans always liked a greek culture, one of the strongest indication of this was the fact, that during pagan era they just stole of their gods. And even beside that, greeks were considered very cultured, if weak and passive, people. In Byzantium greekofication process intensified, but people of Byzantium always considered themselves romans, to their last days.

          >that during pagan era they just stole of their gods
This is about as dumb as saying the Vikings stole Greek Gods. They did not practice the same religious traditions, rites, cults or even Gods in some cases. They shared Gods, because just like every other Indo-European peoples, they were descended from the same tradition.
          >In Byzantium greekofication process intensified
