How did they make OnlyOffice so compatible with Microsoft Office?

How did they make OnlyOffice so compatible with Microsoft Office?
It has completely removed the need for MS Office for me.

    >MS Office... le bad (because I run CuckOS, which is free but can't run useful mainstream software)
    >use a glorified webapp instead
    >native-looking desktop app which embeds a web browser to do the actual work
    >the desktop app hardcodes XCB API usage, possibly doesn't even support Wayland natively
    >desktop app is worse than an actual browser
Is this what Linux is? A browser launcher?

Linux gives you as much freedom as Windows, unless you want to hack kernel internals, which (You) never do anyway.

Can you install more lightweight GUI on Windows? Something like Ratpoison?

I exclusively use Linux on the desktop and have for many years.
            >Ratpoison
You're not going to use that anyway on Linux. OP uses KDE, bloated Windows desktop clone. I lack experience with Windows, but maybe it's easy to run a custom GUI with Win CE.

            >Can you install more lightweight GUI on Windows?
yea, at least some people used to. on windows they're known as shell replacements, they're nearly all dead nowadays, i guess whoever cares has moved to linux

hacking kernel internals is more free on windows because stuff stays the same for longer than on linshit
if you can't figure out how to load an unsigned driver then you probably don't have the skills to do any kernel mode programming to begin with

I use Linux on the desktop, but I'm not delusional about what it is. If you're interested in using Docker, you can simply ssh into a headless Linux machine.

Even with devs, it's rare. You're just caught in your bubble. You want to believe. Even devs who develop for Linux, like Android or embedded, are predominantly on Windows.

    Wrong

IQfy is not representative of anything. But it sure is one of the most low IQ places I've ever seen. Most users in that poll probably pretend to use Linux to look cool, and there's no information if they even have a job.

        >sum of all OSes is over 100%
        >even if they say to use Linux, 20-30% also use Windows
But higher than expected. I didn't know Linux is so popular with normalgays. It doesn't match with my experience with so many developers preferring Windows or giving the Linux platform low priority. Maybe it's the web dev bias.
Given that only 0.65% say they never visited SO, I question that this is an actually representative survey. It also shows the IQfy poll is biased as frick.

The high Linux numbers can be explained by the fact that using a home server or HTPC with Linux counts as using Linux. At work, most full stack or backend web devs will have to deal with Linux on the server.

Most people don't bother with home servers anymore, so that's a pretty weak argument.
I don't really understand the sheer copium over Linux having a relevant niche. It's not 2004, dude.
