the pcs of my kids will emulate my growing up and the digital age in general, as they grow up year by year more games and cartoons will be unlocked allowing them to truly appreciate it all instead of giving them a tablet and installing fortnite on their pc day 1

This is so fricking based. The one problem is the FOMO your kid would experience during school. So to counter that, you'd have to homeschool your kid I guess, but then you end up with a sheltered child.

The Internet unironically did. If you don't think this is the case you must be a zoomer, and you've started using the Internet after it has already been ruined.

You must be young or very moronic if you deny something so obvious. It's not the same as music and television. The Internet went through genuine and permanent waves of change for the worse as it got more popular.
The first one was the rise of phones with fully functional web browsers. One by one, you could see websites get redesigned to be phone first, with desktop computers as an afterthought. Lower information density, less information, designed less to solve your problem and more to keep morons clicking like a monkey in a behavioral psychology experiment. Forum comments also got worse as they were made less often by people spending dedicated time in front of their desktop computers and more often by normies in a queue, on a bus, etc.
Then IQfy got ruined in 2016. Trump electiongays got online en masse to praise their leader, but they were so brainless and obnoxious that they started getting booted from everywhere else so they congregated on IQfy, resulting in the low IQ site it is now.
Reddit followed shortly after, when it got redesigned to look like a fricking forum for primary schoolers with these moronic snoovatars, image replies, animations, You Dropped This, King awards. It really accelerated the replacement of Reddit's original userbase of techies with another kind of obnoxious and brainless politics junkies, constantly circlejerking about how everything bad is neoliberalism, all rich people are evil, and all conservatives are incels who hate women.
Hacker News held out the longest, but I still saw it get ruined in 2019-2021 by the same leftist idiot horde as above.
So yes, the good Internet is gone and you will never experience it. The technology is far better now but the people are incomparably worse. There are still a couple of unpopular good websites, but obviously I'm not going to mention them here.
