what good would money be to human beings leaving the ark? either they are on the ark and wont use money, or they are getting left behind and are going to die. if you want to get on the ark you better prove yourself useful, or be elon's friend

It can work out if the ark ships are a bit of a scam, where rich fricks can go spend the rest of their days in a tin can, pretending they're on an indefinite luxury cruise, and praying their cabin never gets hit by a microasteroid, while whoever is left on earth gets to figure out how to adapt somehow.

The more I look at this pic the more i realise how stupid it is
    >take the time to neatly stack millions of dollars in cash in a massive cube
    >just haphazardly start chucking more on top ignoring the original order
    >stacks around the sides completely on the piss compared to the main cube
    >stacks around the sides different heights and random depths now
why even bother, just burn it all now

Enough to where I can afford a nice home in a good neighborhood for a family, and still have enough to where if I became medically disabled I could afford to live comfortably and support my family AND be able to leave a decent fortune for my family after dying at old age.

You can live a decent retirement in eastern europe with that. Probably could live like a king in a 3rd world shithole with 3M.

3 mil and I'd quit working, buy a 2 bedroom cabin in a small town in Appalachia somewhere and frick off until I die.

Staying in my country, 500k to 1 mil would probably be enough to sustain my lifestyle. To successfully migrate from Europe and set myself up somewhere safe-ish (Japan I'm thinking) before the civil war begins, probably need at least 2-3 mil.

Japan is cheap as frick bro. Like, really. Absurdly cheap, even, for a first world country. It'll cost you less than western europe.

I own 6 acres and a farmhouse outright, from a family inheritance that ended in my favor. 1M USD or a bit less would be enough for me to stop waging and actually do something with the property. That's all I really want from life honestly

Nothing can ever be enough. We should always strive for achieving greater things including accumulating wealth, abnegation is a vice perpetuated by slave morality NPCs.

15-20 million paying me 10% divvies, that's my long term goal. I'll invest half and take half out.
Anything under 10 isn't enough to be truly safe, because it's not enough to properly diversify it and that number can easily get fricked way lower in a radical market downturn or a company failure.
20 mil is a pretty good place to be initially. I'd have to keep on growing it though. Inflation will frick that amount to 1/10th of it's current value in a matter of a decade or two.

I'd quit my job if I had 20 million saved today. No matter what happens ill have a comfortable life.

Thinking you've made it on anything less than 10 is embarrassing really. Start at 15, work 50 years until 65 and save 1000 dollars a month, you have 10 million inflation adjusted dollars to retire on. If you're a real chad just put in 100k at 15 and never save another dime and hit the same result.

1 million kicks off a safe withdrawal of 2000 to 3000 dollars a month. Good luck living off that when median rent is 1800, you did buy didn't you anon?

You know what, you're right, how much IS enough?
I became a shitcoin expert thinking it would solve all my issues. I finally became a "millionaire" by the US standards thanks to a pump in CONAN last week. First i was ecstatic, i thought "finally, my life will now begin", i was then hit with the reality of life itself. My mother is still sick, she already has the best treatment money can buy, more money wont solve that problem, im still depressed, i have no friends, no significant other. I guess you're right, i've become so driven to get money i forgot to live my life. Thanks anon, a fricking breaking bad reference made me question my life

enough that I don't have to worry about money anymore.
