    Answers with explainations:
1: must be circle, must be most different
    2: rotation
    3: copy
    4: addition
    5: match
    6: subtraction
7: must be outside and uncolored
8: must be bold must balance sticks between bold and non-bold
    9: match
    10: addition
11: standing stick is pushing right, sticks must add to 5
    12: mirro
    13: arithmetic
    14: subtract shapes
    15: 8 decreases to 7, 1 decreases to 0, 4 decreases to 3.
IQ can be improved, you just lack imagination for solutions, remember that at points data will obfuscate truth, the ones with junk data are probably the hardest.

Just take it and then see the explanations. What's the big deal?
        IQ scales with knowledge.
Take geoguessers for example, clearly their very good at what they do, but they need information to do that. Information can be constructed and shared so that someone else can develop that construction, that's a basis of language, otherwise it would be useful. People with natural high IQs as children have great generation, they're just naturally generating knowledge without inspiration, they don't know what an IQ test is, once you have inspiration it's easier to construct knowledge. You can't trust that someone has a high IQ. I study physics so I'm going to have unreasonable ability for math reasoning, spatial reasoning, and even word reasoning.

          Anonymous

It just may skew a "natural" data set. Thats why tests dont show the answers first. If someone elses posts 140, im going to call bullshit on it now. Because of you.

You must be diliberately being obtuse. Ive taken real IQ tests before and the administrator never tells you what the answers are before you take the test. Not ever in any situation. Doesnt happen.

            Anonymous

Maybe, or maybe they looked at the answers without putting any mental effort into the test at all. If someone gets 128, I'd consider that legit. But the next person that posts 140 is a fricking bullshitter.

I scored 140, if you've seen a few IQ tests there's nothing difficult about this one, although I think 11 is somewhat ambiguous and 15 is slightly odd as you wouldn't expect a repeating sequence. Anyway, it's trivial. There's no particular merit to this test.

            >I scored 140
            bullshit

            >There's no particular merit to this test.

Depends what you mean by that. Obviously you wouldnt be able to take these results to a professional and have them take it seriously. But there is **a level** of intelligence that it does measure as most people that take this test do not get 140. On average people score around 110 - 120

Interestingly, every online IQ test I've taken has reflected the real IQ tests that ive taken by psychologists.

Why does it matter? It didn't take serious mental effort to get the answers, just look at my explanations.

Well good for you Mr. Smarty Pants. Want a cookie? You're not the first person to score 140, but you are the first to create a cheat sheet and ruin my thread. If the IQ test is so easy, why even post the answers? Is it because you think everyone is too stupid to figure it out? No, you know damn well that other people arent going to know the answers but you wanted to be "that guy". Good for you.

1, 7, 8, 11 seem pretty arbitrary. There isn't really a clear pattern that excludes the others

        Anonymous

1: must be a circle, this discludes all non circle answers. The only thing we are knowing is that the patterns is pushing left and it changes every time. Therefore it must be the most distinct one
        7: same process of exclusion
8: same process of exclusion, but you need to look at the possible solutions to complete a sequence instead of a matrix.
11: most of the information here is visual clutter, the only thing that matters is stability: i.e. the standing stick is pushing right, and the count of sticks must be 5.
All these reasonings exclude other answers and give the correct answer. Otherwise you're saying that either they are all arbitrarily sufficient or they are all arbitrarily insufficient.

          Anonymous

Nothing you said is a strong argument for the answer.

1: I picked the empty circle. It made things look more symmetric than the most different circle. This is as least as strong an argument as pick the most distinct one just because.

7: Picking the "right" answer makes the diagonal look weird. There are two squares in the same position and then one in a completely different position. There is simply not a satisfying solution for this one.

8: Ok, it needs to be bold, that leaves 3 answers out of 7. Why star? The number of lines seems arbitrary, but in retrospect I guess you could say you pick star because the number of lines has to be different in each case. But this is a pretty weak pattern (and it has nothing to do with what you wrote in your posts).

          11. 3 out of 6 answers have 5 lines. I narrowed it down to this too. What does "pushing right" have to do with anything? That is an extremely weak reason and not consistent with the other squares.

            Anonymous

            >I picked the empty circle.
terrible choice, that's only 1/2 of the information we're certain of, we also know it needs to be unique
            >There is simply not a satisfying solution for this one.
It doesn't have to be satisfying it just has to follow a rule. It has to be outside and uncolored.
            >Why star?
It doesn't matter, none of the information indicates which shape it should be, it's meaningless information we know it needs to be bold, now we need to reason which bold shape, star has enough sticks to balance the sticks between bold and non-bold.

            >3 out of 6 answers have 5 lines.
correct, now we can look at the reduced space of possible choices by one rule to find another rule to deduce which is the correct choice. That's where the standing stick that pushes right (shifts a cell rightward per row sequence)
            >and not consistent with the other squares.
            low IQ moment.
It's ok buddeh, you just need to breakdown your old bad way of thinking and improve.

I've seen its development from a self-scored pdf to the state it is in now. Made by the autists of r/cognitivetesting. Needs to be five lines, needs to have a vertical line.

        Anonymous

5 lines is obvious, but a vertical line is not reasonable, since only that one diagonal has an invariant like that.

          Anonymous

          One vertical per row/column

            Anonymous

I'd say that the vertical line alone is just too weak. Why not say that every row must have a picture with 2 short lines, which would make D an answer?

I would expect there to be a stronger invariant than just this one line, regardless of how you justify it.

            Anonymous

            >Number of lines per row/column is always 3/4/5, order of which is irrelevant
            >Vertical line is present only once per row/column
            >It is the only unique line orientation that is repeated across rows/columns
            >It is the only unique line orientation that follows any sort of pattern
            >In the absence of other patterns, and with only one answer that fulfills both of the 'vertical line' and '5 lines' conditions, you are left with no other choice but 1
            Good enough for you?

            Anonymous

            >Good enough for you?
Not even remotely. You're just repeating the same 1 vertical line justification, which is just one invariant on just one diagonal. Not good enough.

            Anonymous

You didn't see it and are angry, I get it. If you cannot find another pattern that is as good or better than the repetition of the vertical line to explain why it's answer 1, you are left with the vertical line as the reason.
Is it a good question? Maybe not.
Are you mad and feeling dumb? Most likely

            Anonymous

I actually answered it correctly precisely because of that vertical line on the diagonal, but it's just not reasonable. I could have come up with your list of reasons for D too. In fact, I could come up with even one more.

Don't worry. You wouldn't be able to make me feel dumb. I'm confident in the knowledge that I'm quite a bit smarter than you.

            Anonymous

Sure you did, that is why you are asking why it's answer 1.
And if you did find just as many patterns that could make other answers a viable option, why did you not pick them?
Lay it out, why would D or other answers work.

These "look at geometric shapes in a grid" are tiresome. It is actively bullshitting you with to give the impression there are other "patterns" in every kind of direction. Its like these videos were some people are throwing balls around and then somone in a gorilla suit walks trough the background. Or when you stare at a blank wall long enough and start to see shapes/colors.

I think there is more to logic then just to be able to cancel out visual noise.

The more I think about it, the more I realize these tests are about to "see" patterns. Like literally with your eyes. Minuscle differences hidden in squares, circles, whatever. Its sure is need when you are good at this... but for most things in life were you require higher reasoning it is about juggling abstract, formless concepts in your head.
