Why would they need to replace something that just works? Waylandtrannies can seethe all they want.

The easiest way is in a virtual machine of which there are many free preloaded ones to download like via osboxes.

    https://www.osboxes.org/

Then you can sample a variety of distros side-by-side and cull those you dislike. Linux is quite easy to use (ignore the ricers, autspergs and basically most of IQfy) these days.

What they are pushing as a "replacement" is literal alpha tier software with serious design flaws that also doesn't work. But it's okay because it enables transwomen of color.

What's wrong with X? Serious question from a linux noob

gives slow performance and requires janky code.

the main problem with wayland is that they've been promising to replace X in two more weeks for over a decade and it's annoying

can't fix what's is rot from the very root
          > it's just a protocol bro
every implementation "fixed" the many demerits of this protocol (surprise by adding the bare minimum which have been lacking since forever, thus approaching it of what is xorg), now we have incompatible implementations, only then the protocol add new things to increase the incompatibility. Nice

Desktop Linux is a never ending train wreck.
It just keeps getting worse every year with no end in sight.

it needs a dictator. Linux is proof that anarchy doesn't work.

nope. Wayland has been in troony development hell since 2008. still doesn't support many features that x11 has and still not ready for replacement.

actually, wayland troony developers have now been engaging in history revisionism claiming that Wayland was never designed to replace x11. it was actually just supposed to be an alternative!

      >still not ready for replacement
It already replaced X in RHEL, Ubuntu and SteamOS

        >so long as winblows programs are used, so is wine
        >so long as xBlack person features are required, so must wayland use xwayland

Guys I don't know if this is a good thread for this but how to get transparent terminals in Wayland? I haven't done Linux stuff in years and I'm on an edible I can't figure out the problem the compositor is included in the wm now?

    Debian testing is comfy AF.
New drivers, constant kernel updates, stable, not Arch.

And the best part: Minimalist Gnome that no one had a chance to frick up. Its the best UI experience I've had in any OS.

    Its awesome.
