I FEEL NOTHING

I still drive my 2001 Honda Crv (red) with 350k miles.

What are the financial implications of this?

I'm at 1 million and feel nothing. I still can't retire, buy a decent home, or afford a hot girlfriend. At this point I think life starts around 5 mil (buy a nice home and make enough interest to retire)

moron 1m invested is basically middle class income in returns for doing nothing

20-40k is middle class to you? Safe post-inflation index returns are under 4%

            >Safe post-inflation index returns are under 4%
20-40k would literally pay for rent and food in almost any place in the usa

Rent is $1500 in a flyover outside of the ghetto. That's $13,000. Add an avg US car payment and your budget is gone.

Maybe you can scrape by. Hell of a way to live though. I guess you could WoW max.

You can buy a house for $150k in small 95% white towns in Ohio.

Only problem is property tax laws in Ohio are gay and they can and will raise them on you.

You can LITERALLY buy 20 years bonds with 4.75% interest RIGHT NOW.

That is guaranteed $47,500 per million for 20 years with LITERALLY no risk relative to holding dollar in a bank account.

            https://www.treasurydirect.gov/marketable-securities/treasury-bonds/

And yes, 40k a year with no house payment is middle class everywhere in the country except in the over priced shitholes that are NYC, LA, and chicago. The fricking treasury bond rates are so good that I'm actually planning on buying some with my BTC gains in early 2025 (if its still that high in another year).

100k-200k downpayment on a nice house. Put the rest in the market and live comfortably on even 10% returns. Not seeing the issue here.

lmao 100-200k downpayment with a mortgage?

Okay bucko. Let's say you are looking at 500k and get lucky and only have a 6% mortgage (APR is 7.2% right now) plugging that into a mortgage calculator brings out $2,600 a month.

So all of the sudden your 900k a year (assuming you pull out the safe 4%) only yields 36k a year. $2,600 a month mortgage payments eats up $31.2k of that ALONE.

            And before you say
            >just buy a cheaper house lol

yeah then enjoy living like a POORgay and eating rice and beans, like I said.

The plan works better when you aren't a pussy, and put at least 700k into a 2x btc etf to sell it for >4x within 2 years. Easy retirement.

Why don't you post your portfolio with the 2x btc etf if you believe that would actually work? (It won't) Put your money where your mouth is.

Trying to retire at all is a recipe for disaster. Retired life is so miserable .

I have been retired since 2017 . I’m 34 now. Women start to resent you doing nothing all day. You don’t feel accomplished. Retired is a meme . I fcukign hate it.

I keep waiting for ten million net worth to let my real life begin but even then nothing will change

            Anonymous

Of course there's no point if you just do nothing. I would appreciate having more time to raise my future children. Fitnessmaxxing. Playing musical instruments. Working on personal projects, maybe starting a company. I attempt most of these already but between a regular job and my wife there is little time/energy remaining. All of my problems in life would disappear if I was financially independent.

That was in regards to how you could theoretically retire off 1m right now. Downpayment + max longing the rest.

You can retire well in Colombia or Thailand. Move there and get a nice wife to take care of you and treat you like a king don’t worry about how hot she is. The only thing that really matters behind closed doors is how good she sucks your dick and how good she takes care of you.

I learned this the hard way.

I’m waiting personally for 2 million which may come this cycle considering that I have 180,000 currently .

        Fingers crossed .

Also one more thing Retired life is very boring

I’m currenttly living the neet life with me mom .

This is correct. $200k is absolutely drive a shitter territory. $200k is merely a nest egg and a slight cushion on the event something happens to your job.

Extreme skill issue. I could retire on 1 mill living in Massachusetts (not a cheap state)

Yeah you can retire at poorgay levels at a mil renting a shitty apartment and driving a shitty 20 year old car and eating Walmart and Taco Bell food. You can be comfortable doing that, but beyond working you're not able to live in any sort of real luxury or opulence.

Why would you immobilize so much money on a slowly appreciating asset when you can use it to buy stocks and rent a place instead anyway?
I don't get housegays in 2024. There's no reason to buy a house anymore. You have no wife and no kids and never will.

        Anonymous

Because in a state with no property tax (like Texas), owning a house means you can live in the space for free. Get off the grid with solar, geothermal ect. And you dwindle your living expenses to nearly nothing. Grow your own food and you finally escaped the system entirely.

And escape is truly the definition of making it.

Also you don't immobilise shit, you get a loan. And as long as its lower than rent, or you can make more than the interest by investing, who fricking cares? It's still going toward you eventually instead of feeding someone else

That's not that impressive tbh. I make close to that per year and have been investing 50% of my pay into my 402k for 6 years and have already made it. Do you even have a job or did you just lucky on some shit coin.
Honestly, that's like just enough to turn into something worth retiring on if you invest it wisely, but you'll likely chase shit coins and vaporware and lose most of it.

200k is literally nothing. 1mil is literally nothing. you feel nothing because it is NOTHING. this is not somethign be proud of at your age. as a matter of fact all of your peers probably have more than that in addition to actually having completed major life milestones like having a first kiss, having sex and having kids. mean while you sit on your imaginary internet coins waiting for your "real life" to start. motherfricker this is your real life now. even if you do reach whatever fantasy number you have in your head where you "make it" it will never bring back your youth. you will feel empty inside still having more 0's on your screen will change nothing. you are just a slave to greed who will never be satisifed.
