sure you can, i dont convert images that often, and i know ffmpeg can do it in without much input

nta, but I use ffmpeg for other shit, whereas I have no other use for imagemagick.
I didn't even have it installed until I installed neofetch or whatever.

            >Smartscreen screams when you try to execute binary from developer who didn't pay to Microsoft
it's no more a defender feature than UAC is, just happens to live in "Windows Security" UI-wise for convenience
also it's 2 clicks to proceed for the once in a blue moon that you need to

but that aside Windows Defender literally made 3rd-party AVs obsolete, freeing you from being encouraged to pay them, avoiding the breakages they might cause to Windows itself, and generally just staying out of the way
legit best piece of software msft has produced in the past decade

wtf I just tried it on KDE and it worked.
I'm 99% sure other DE's I've used either didn't use that key at all or they just always took a full screen capture when you pressed the button.

GNOME and KDE is expected to support it by the virtue of being "the big 2". I assume most other gnome descendants also support this due to shared code, old way of doing it anyway. A simple screenshotting functionality shouldn't be too hard for a compositor anyway, they handle input and video after all. All they gotta do is snatch a frame from rendering pipeline

I just use an extension on Firefox that let's me save them as .PNGs through a single click, it's never the ideal as I'd prefer if WebPs weren't even a thing, or were better supported, like in IQfy, but it works well enough for what it is.

That takes several seconds additional time (or over a dozen on windows). Are you prepared to do that much work just to post an image on a chinese basketweaving forum? You could also auto convert them with something like
      >watch -n1
But that'd also be several seconds of extra typing
