I think Mastodon is the new Twitter. Bluesky is more of a private garden echo chamber for furries and troons
Yep, all IQfyners should ignore Bluesky and make Mastodon accounts.

meh. it's ok but really reminds me of over a decade ago when people thought:
      > i know i can make my own IQfy. then i can say Black person all day long
and their sites just die and nobody uses them. that's most of these mastodon instances. they're all dead or some schizophrenia circlejerk no better that twitter. in fact it's same schizos on twitter using mastodon.

IQfyners should stay on imageboards and stop using microblogging platforms as their namegayging outlet. Current imageboard culture does not need to spread elsewhere

It was supposed to, but it's still fricking shit years after being announced: no global hotkeys, no screen recording, no xdotool alternative, no server-side decorations, it fricking breaks everything.

when they banned jap artists for posting clothed anime girls, it's very clear it's gonna flop hard. isn't it also becoming a dead man's site like what happened to Threads?

Bluesky moderation is Patreon-tier schizo shit. Oh, you posted a risque drawing of a e-girl anywhere else? Hmm, we'll just ban your account here even if you literally didn't break our ToS.
Frick this joke of a site, Mastodon is a million times better, at least there are several instances that are not micromanaged by dipshits. Bluesky decided to burn any attempt of becoming a real alternative before it even started, frick them.

isn't this just a locked down mastodon instance that thought having invitations only for a few months was a good idea

It uses a different protocol. It was meant to be a "better" Mastodon by providing a big instance for people who were filtered by Mastodon not having an official main server, all while keeping the possibility of federating other instances. The main instance failed because it's moderated by overzealous trannies who delete anything they don't like, and anyone who wanted to make his own Twitter is using Mastodon already and has no reason to change, so it's as good as dead.

I think people know that it won't replace twitter. I think people are just HOPING that it can replace what Twitter was for them.

A place to laugh, join in ongoing conversations, find news happening instantly, and whatever else people are into.

The problems I have with these kinds of social media ideas is more so the crazy usernames that have to come along with them. Having to tell someone your username so they can follow you was very annoying on Mastodon.

I've moved on to Mastodon, but I doubt it will become a mainstream alternative.

Bluesky is still locked behind invite codes. At this point, most people can't access it.

Don't they already have pixiv, pawoo, baraag and fc2?

they're just registering there to squat on their names. when the alternative is more fascist than twitter itself, it's pointless to move there.

Not really. I think they're using a system to scan images for CP and the provider that they use apparently is very trigger happy even to e-girl and they can't do anything about it since CSAM scanning services are invite only.

Academia (STEM) is still using X
Mainstream leftists are still using X (they can't pass on replying their seeth to right wing politicians and personalities)
Media and entertainment are still using X
Only the ultra progressive scum (the ones who sincerely support sex change for children) left X.

      >Mainstream leftists are still using X (they can't pass on replying their seeth to right wing politicians and personalities)
This is the thing that's going to hurt Bluesky and the ATProtocol, for both the left and the right. Right now, if you get blocked by something on Bluesky, you can't see or interact with their posts. Which is stupid. Say you make a Bluesky post that makes lefties or rightoids angry? Then they all block you and half the content for you is gone. I'm not saying that these people should be forced to see your shitty comments, but you should still be able to interact with the content in order to discuss it with friends or other people who haven't blocked you. This type of structure heavily promotes circlejerking.

One small positive though is that you may eventually be able to make your own non conforming client that can interact with people who've blocked you, possible because of the way the protocol is engineered.

      >Mainstream leftists are still using X (they can't pass on replying their seeth to right wing politicians and personalities)
2bh this is the only one that matters because the others you mentioned are already clearly waning

but the smug leftists hopelessly addicted to xeeting who CANNOT not reply to bait and mockery are the single thing keeping twitter alive and preventing it from being cannibalized by a sea of bots and a bunch of right wing grifters trying to out grift each other for engagement.
they seethe about elon while simultaneously being his most valuable resource, they are that website's lifeline
