I use it for like last 2 years and it just works.
I was using testing initially, but when it was promoted to stable (Debian 12) I stayed on it.
I only get security updates and few non-security ones, it's stable and reliable and gets the job done.

Manjaro was actually one of those meme distros and it's a pile of shit, just use arch. Manjaro is just "why bother?" the distro

you're pretty fricking dumb if that's what you think i was saying. are you a new linux user? almost all of the time when people talk about distros they're referring to the DE, not the distro itself. everyone on this gay board for homosexuals, like you, always argues about kde/gnome, but they don't realize that you can install anything on all distros, because it's all just linux. so you obviously not only don't know the difference between a DE and a distro, but you also don't know that you can install anything on any distro, and you don't realize that all distros run the linux kernel. linux is a kernel, hope this helps

Nothing you're saying is new information for anybody who has above 90 iq. It's such a weird and overly specific thing to harp on the fact that gnome/kde are software suites. People use different distros because they have different package release cycles and in-house tooling. Manjaro for example holds back arch packages until they're stable, and its main gimmick is tool called pamac which is an interface over pacman and several other package managers. Debian's thing is a slow release cycle (~3 years per stable release) with LTS, along with stable defaults for software used in server stacks. Arch is for extremely minimal systems (which is why it doesn't have something like pamac and it does rolling release). It's weird that you're so fixated on desktops since nobody except you ever really had a problem with that.

This is nonsensical by your own definition since most distros give you multiple DE options literally on the install page. So you don't actually have a way of knowing what someones DE is until they tell you. If someone says they're running debian, you literally have no way of knowing if its debain gnome, KDE, xfce etc until they tell you so why the frick would you say that people are referring to their DE when mentioning a distro? Do YOU even know what a distro is? because like

Arch is really overhyped shit, you don't need latest software and especially don't need latest bugs and regressions that come with latest software. "Latest" release in free open source software is actually "beta".

        why?

          Anonymous

Because reconfiguring the kernel to include the needful drivers for the camera is ez on gentoo. You regulate exactly how freetard your software is, so you'll have no trouble getting appropriate codecs too. Finally it can be fully rolling-release, which means you pull from the upstream. Or it can be stable, no problem there too.
They've even added binary repos, so you can only coooompile only the shit you need.

I wanted to use Debian, but the only 2 distros that don't freeze for 10-15 seconds at random are Ubuntu and Kubuntu. For over a decade used Ubuntu. Tried Debian earlier today. All updated and everything, yep freezes. Tried liquorix kernel, still freezes. So, I installed Kubuntu 22.04.3. Fricking glorious and stable. Was able to add Pro to it so it'll be supported just like this till 2032. I'm now super happy.
