I used one for about twelve years before the bolts on the back sheared off. I went to Ikea and got another one.

The killer feature of this chair: it locks in the reclined position. This is very comfy. Most office chairs will only lock upright, which is more or less useless.

Same, but I first I bought the Järvfjället thinking it might be an upgrade. I returned it after a day, and just got the Markus. Cheaper too.

staples hyken also locks reclined, as well as in an intermediate position

      >Most office chairs will only lock upright
this is a legal issue i shit you not
office chairs in at least Germany need a lock position for liability, but the company's dont want you to use it because floating is better for long term spine health. So the compromise is to lock it in the most uncomfortable position possible

      We can't all be Japanese.

The seat on this flattens out after a couple years making it too uncomfortable. Also the arm rests are way too close.

The mesh acts as a dust magnet so if your not careful it gets real nasty back there fast.

      Easy enough to vacuum though.

I fricking hate the Japs for turning the most mundane bullshits into something you seemingly need to do a lot of research on in order to "understand" it. It's literally not that complicated

            >nips sitting on the floor
woah that is SO cultured aesthetic. SO exotic

because the Japanese made it their central cultural tenet that they are the gods gift to earth and superior to other races in every way, except they were also isolated on islands devoid of most natural resources with difficult terrain.

When they were forced to open up to the rest of the world by a superior military they doubled down on that, extinguishing any form of cultural exchange, isolating it to a minimum and putting themselves over the other asian cultures. Eventually they had a war against a "western" country in said countries backyard, somehow won, then got completly stomped a few decades later but never accepted that maybe, just maybe they are just another culture admidst thousands instead of the one true masterrace.

So thats why they overdo everything that has some cultural heritage to "perfection", are incredibly xenophobic and every little outside innovation is met with a massive backlash. Because accepting that they didnt discover the best solution to every problem in life would uproot their societies foundations.

what? we sit on the floor? this how our home's dining/tv room looks like (not exactly but similar) and even poorer people all have this configuration just with shittier quality and "details" as you go down. I don't think I've ever seen anyone sit or eat on the floor ever, unless it's in the literal mountain in some sheep herding station

this is all true. reddit cucked me into getting this heap of shit and it is the worst chair I have ever used. the ass cushion is extremely thin and whatever material it uses for padding is not enough for a normal sized/weight man. maybe it suits diversity hires who move their mouse once or twice a day and are otherwise doing anything but work, but for a white man contributing to society it’s not good enough. the arm rests are shoddy quality too

I've heard the build quality is absolute garbage. Haven't seen one in person, but it "looks" like an imitation product.

whats the difference with the jarv...
i was checking the ikea from my country, and they only sell the jarv...

The Jarv has a smaller seat, but more adjustment options. The cushion is quite a bit harder too, almost like sitting on a wooden chair. Everytime I shifted my arm, the adjustable arm rest would slide with it. Otherwise it's very similar to the Markus.

honestly, even if the build is bad, its so cheap, you can throw it away in 2-3years and it would still be cheaper than most chair with similar spec out there

A chair is something I want to buy and forget about. The seat on mine is getting kind of worn down actually. The next one will be a gamer chair that's built like a tank.

Took the arm rests off mine. Squeaks like a mf sometimes and you can't disassemble the wheels to clean them afaik. Otherwise pretty solid chair for the price.

      >Squeaks like a mf
Oil it, it's probably the spring when you recline, right? I use picrel, just make sure you use a lubricant and not WD40 (unless it's the lithium one)

        Anonymous

        WD40 works great
I thought I was redpilled by using PB blaster instead but no, WD40 is best

It's not a lubricant, so the squeaks will return. There's a variant which will work.

I'm sure it's good, but honestly hadn't even heard of that company. There's so many options out there that it would take a month physically visit places to try them all. Also if the price is exorbitant, you have to spend more time hunting them down in secondary markets.

That's one of the reasons I like the Markus, in the same way Steve Jobs just wore multiple versions of the same Turtle Neck sweater.

Sadly, these affordable chairs only work for manlets. I am 6'2"/191cm and those chairs make me suffer after a while. It's like folding yourself into a box. Every part of this chair is missing two inches in every direction.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you that you are a tiny excuse of a man if this chair doesn't create more problems than it solves. Now frick off with your advertisement.

remove the stuffing from headrest, it's way too low for people of normal height.
I don't understand why in 2024 furniture is still designed for 170cm manlets like it's 1950 when it was the average height

it's ok but the headrest is way too big, my neck always hurts until I cut it from the bottom and remove the stuffing.
Adding a zipper wouldn't have hurt them.

      Anonymous

If you have to assemble it it probably comes with the shit tier support between the back support and the chair. I got a chair like that and it broke.
That has to come soldered no way around it.

        Anonymous

it's not soldered, I'm literally sitting on a markus with cut out headrest. It's just a piece of fabric with a sponge inside (the kind cheap mattresses use). They put the sponge then sew the side.
It could have a small zipper on the bottom for $0.1 additional production cost, but it doesn't.

Meh, it's not bad for the price but eventually becomes a paving slab and it squeaks. Armrests are also bad.
