I mostly want it for energy as I am easily distracted and can't complete any projects I start with high motivation. I am also highly impulsive.

Elvanse is better. Also, don't go to the psychiatrist with this attitude. Don't bring your diagnosis and medication with you, or you'll seem like a junkie. What's ok is
    >i have read some of the symptoms of ADHD and it reminded me of traits of my own. Here's a list of my struggles, do you think you can help me?

it's called picking the right doctor
you are looking for "a clinic that specializes in ADHD treatment" with a "medication-forward approach"; it's not hard to find these places if you search

i am not sure if that one is legal either because it seems very similar to amphetamine.

If you know so little why don't you let your doctor choose proper medication for you?

it's also another symptom of adhd i think. i act impulsively and decide to do something randomly without deeper research. i just wanna try concerta and if it doesn't improve things i can just not use it.

It's a bandage. I'd recommend going to a psychologist instead of psychiatrist if you want to actually get better.

Depends. Here (Switzerland), psychiatrists do mainly therapy. If OP is in a country where they are nothing but pill pushers, I agree. Though I'd compare meds to a cast rather than a bandage. Sometimes they're needed for healing.

Fair point. In the US psychiatrists are known pencil you in for a 10 minutes face to face appointment and you leave with a prescription.

And therapy is nothing but "how can we help you leave our office and never come back as quickly as possible?"

Stop speaking for entire countries, you moronic homosexual. Switzerland is one the most liberal places to hand put drugs rather than attempting a useless "therapy" for a neurotype that can’t be therapized away.

I had ADHD my entire life, and I am here to tell you meds are not the answer. If anything, I'd say they are hindrance, as you will focus but you won't do anything of quality. It's great if you want to turn a D student into a C student or F student into a D student then proceed to shove them through the school system, but if you want to function as an 18 years old and over adult you need to get off the meds and work on your own discipline. It's the only real cure, and I mean that.

But if you want to take ADHD meds as a workplace drug, well that's a different story.

doesn't it just make you become even more adhd after a long time since you then are getting attached to the effects and that doesn't work so good.
      you know
if they had just made a cure for it
doesn't really get any better though

I always thought my ADHD symptoms were just how my brain worked and have never thought it was a disorder. I was never able to study at school, complete projects etc. I hope concerta will really help. I always feel restless and act on impulse.

Can you see the effects on the first day?

You can shorten your life by taking too many of these concentrated, powerful medicines/substances.
    Be careful.

Mental illnesses are fake. You don't have a mental disorder, you have weakness and faults in your character. The drugs they give simply deaden your impulses, they don't fix your brain, which isn't broken anyway.
