In the Greco-Turkish war of 1919-1922 the Kingdom of Greece invaded the lands of the 3000 years old Turkish civilization and tried to erase it as they tried to do before in the times of the Macedonian.
But Kingdom of Greece lost the war and now they pretend to be the victims.

          >Kemalism provided an important position to Hittites and Hittite symbolism in constructing Turkish identity and nationhood. Kemalist researchers, such as Ahmet Ağaoğlu (who was an advisor to Atatürk and a politician who played an important role in creating the Turkish Constitution of 1924), believed that the nation must portray Hittites as a world-domineering Turkish race with firm roots in Anatolia.[24]

          >Modern genetic researches on Turkish samples show that Anatolian Turks are a mixture of Turkic tribes and Anatolian natives; however, unlike the Turkish History Thesis, these two admixtures do not originate from the same ethnicity, race, or identity.[25]

On another note, how did Greece lose such a one sides war? They were allied with the Italians and French who were extensively helping them, the turks were in a civil war and their empire had just disintegrated.

At one point Turks ran out of bullets and madlad Chadatürk ordered a bayonet charge as the enemy fired at point blank. It worked.

Soviet support. They were propping up a potential ally that was fighting against its enemies. It's double sad that the atheistic communists decided that defending Orthodoxy in general was not important anymore.

            >According to Soviet documents, Soviet financial and war material support between 1920 and 1922 amounted to: 39,000 rifles, 327 machine guns, 54 cannon, 63 million rifle bullets, 147,000 shells, 2 patrol boats, 200.6 kg of gold ingots and 10.7[6] million Turkish lira (which accounted for a twentieth of the Turkish budget during the war).[6] Additionally the Soviets gave the Turkish nationalists 100,000 gold rubles to help build an orphanage and 20,000 lira to obtain printing house equipment and cinema equipment
