Are women actually this moronic and think this is what real men want?
Can they not realize how fricking sexy and arousing this visual is to a man that isn't a total homosexual?
or are they so insecure about their own looks rather than thinking about how others see their sexiness they let moronic insecurities delude themselves into hiding their natural attractiveness?

A change is going to happen from writing code and then hoping the magic box that is the complier can make things work well from contextual clues in the code. To AI just writing code that directly manipulates the compiler in an autistic way that not even computer nerds would bother to do to get good results.

Both hardware and software will move past human understanding, and be handed off to neural networks.

Why does everything have to revolve around your career? Can’t you study something because of intellectual curiosity? Should you tell someone who wants to study chemistry, or physics, of philosophy or some other classical academic field to not do it because career prospects for chemists and philosophers aren’t as good as they were 500 years ago?

If the only thing making you do the thing you’re doing is the notion of career advancement, jobs, money, etc then you’re probably doing it for the wrong reasons anyway.

And you will figure out a way to make money no matter what path you choose IF you are dedicated to it.

However you will NEVER EVER make any money if the entire motif for doing something is making money, because the actual craft and skill becomes second to whatever paper you think you need to ”make money”

This lofty ideas fall apart in the face of actual expenses required to survive. Honestly, if you are willing to accept poor living conditions then do whatever. But OP said degree. A degree is an investment. If he only wanted to learn, he wouldn't need a degree anyways. But he did mention a degree, so we must take into account the actual value, which is intrinsically tied to finances, return, so on
      >t. Held lofty ideas like this. Ended up homeless, impoverished, freezing, etc

      >Can’t you study something because of intellectual curiosity?
most of us aren't nepobabies who won the life lottery.
      >Should you tell someone who wants to study chemistry, or physics, of philosophy or some other classical academic field to not do it because career prospects for chemists and philosophers aren’t as good as they were 500 years ago?
chemists and physicists are in demand. Philosophers and historians aren't, which is why all philosophy and history majors have extremely rich parents.

        Anonymous

They aren’t in demand, most people i know that did 5 year degrees in engineering physics, biochem, organic chem, theoretical physics etc all ended up albeit in high tier positions, but usually in business management, business controller, statistics etc, the demand for doing the actual job they studied skills for is so minimal it’s not even funny

But that’s not the point, their degree shows aptitude and the ability to learn a lot of stuff quickly, the specific intellectual curiosity they chose to pursue doesn’t translate 1:1 into what they will be doing for the rest of their life, so why not go with something you have a genuine interest in?

          Anonymous

          >so why not go with something you have a genuine interest in?
my interests are music, ancient eastern philosophy, game design and most of all, filmmaking. If I pursued a degree in any of those areas I'd be completely fricked.

the people you know who aren't in demand but got high tier positions could do it because they got a STEM degree. STEM degrees have a lot of weight cause you have to pass really hard courses, some of which are really IQ tests in disguise. Non-STEM degrees are pretty easy, so if you can't get a job doing the thing you prepared for your degree is worthless. The "artist/social science/philosophy grad working at Starbucks" meme is 100% real.
CS STEM so OP is probably fine, but unlike other STEM degrees it's taken less and less seriously as years go by. It'll keep getting worse until colleges stop dumbing down their CS curriculums.

they won't be replaced by AI, they'll be replaced by eastern europeans, pajeets and mexicans using AI, working remotely for 1/10th the cost of a western programmer. There will be expert 15 YOE devs who will remain in demand, but you won't be one of them. You're too late.

CS itself will never die. It's just no longer the get rich quick scheme degree where you just finish your bachelors' and then become a codemonkey.

The idea that a skill is worthless, that most people are worthless, that niches are pointless is just an idea. It's not factual in practice.

But the more people that act on this belief the less people that will be employed, the less will there will be to create new things, the worse things will become.

It's will within that will push through this, those who do not find the will within will decay.

people have lost it, they see that as a fixed idea (not referring to OP as it is a bot) but people who actually need to know programming would benefit the knowledge if it and the tools surrounding it, no matter what that reason may be, and even if you don't get your rat cage sweetspot at whatever of the fang companies you'll still make use of it, these types of people are why there are so many low quality programs out there nowdays
