It lags so horribly I can't do anything on my computer with Firefox open. Many websites take 5+ seconds to load. Scrolling is stuttery and it looks HIDEOUS. Chrome works perfectly so I'll just be sticking to that after trying troonyfox tbh

I tried Chrome, it lagged horribly after opening and the scrolling sucks. Removed the pajeetware afterwards but I can understand some people like the green, red and yellow colors.

      Well, vanilla Firefox has
      >just as much telemetry as Chrome
      >as much bloat as Brave
      >isn't particularly more secure than the alternatives
      >noticably slower than all of them
So i'm wondering, is it actually worth it to try to make it not absolutely suck, or is it a lost cause?

      Use it

none of those have anything to do with the reasons it sucks. it's slow, clunky, really rough around the edges. non-progressive images aren't even blended against an alpha plane, it's white. flashbombs everywhere. not to mention the amount of basic shit that should be a setting that's' buried in about:config like overscroll and the full-screen popups that NEVER GO AWAY

No, after they got Eich out the company became a SJW firesale, only 1% of the budget goes to R&D and the rest goes to money laundering SJW schemes. Firefox hasn't changed since 2015 and their obsession with making sure you can't modify it or get plugins is the final nail in the coffin. It also runs like shit on everything

Not without firing basically everyone in charge at Mozilla. They spend next to no money on browser development since all the money goes to executives and social projects.

Remove moronic CEO that thinks DoH is secure (it's not. 99.999% of usage directly goes to the query after, with headers that are not encrypted.) and not only that will ignore a computer's DNS settings in order to mix with HTTPS traffic and not only that goes to fricking cloudflare.
There is no saving that browser. Run from morons, and if you can't stand it you better use a version where moronation is undone. Good luck.

browsers are just rendering engines and JS interpreters moron. apple even forces every browser, including firefox on iOS to use their safari engine. I can always take any browser, slap my own requests code on it and adblockers work again. your argument is so moot and dumb you shouldn't be on IQfy.

why haven't you made your own browser with any telemetry and good UI then?

mullvad browser is the perfect clearnet browser out of the box especially for anyone who has no idea what they're doing like me. they've partnered with tor project so you get all their hardening changes just without the tor part. comes with unlock origin + noscript preconfigured for general use. it's basically brave if they actually provided what they preach

why do you hate mullvad? I think they're a great company I like all their products so far. I'd be sad if the schizo theories saying they're a fed honeypot was true. I will keep shilling for them until they're proven to be dodgy

I have been using Firefox for over 10 years now. Most of the complaints are fricking memes, the only real issue is the occasional site that shits the bed because it was designed with exclusively Chromium-based browsers in mind.

none sadly after all they are all based on firefox
librewolf horrible defaults because privacy, waterfox lol lmao "privacy" owned by ad company, floorp firefox esr by nippons with lots of tweaks, mercury done by the furry guy who does thorium, mullvad browser similar to libreworlf, mull fork for privacy on android, it breaks everything, dickyfox teasily the best

        Anonymous

i think mercury is fine because it's just firefox with some general optimizations, telemetry and bloat disabled and some betterfox tweaks that can't really break shit.

People say it has "as much telemetry as chrome," but then they don't really provide proof. I was under the impression that you could still disable the telemetry as well, using various about:config settings. Is this not true?

      https://spyware.neocities.org/guides/firefox <- spyware mitigation guide
not sure how old those articles are. the schizo who runs that neocities does tend to make a mountain out of a mole hill but I still think it's a good resource for getting a general idea about spyware in popular programs.
      >reddit spacing
I personally just download mullvad's browser or librewolf. I personally recommend mullvad's browser as they have far more resources as a company than librewolf and have partnered with the tor project, so I'd expect them to release updates to potential vulnerabilities in the future much faster than librewolf (purely speculation). as of right now though from what i can tell they're both pretty much functionally the same in terms of privacy/security so pick your poison.

Oops, sent even more millions of dollars to the CEO and shady leftoid NGOs, just can't help it haha. We totally stand for the open web and shit. That's why we removed RSS for example. Still gotta use Firefox though. Not like you have an alternative which isn't a Chromium skin LMAO.
