All zoomers are gen z, but not all of gen z is zoomers. Regardless, yeah, they're pretty tech illiterate for the most part. They aren't moronic, it's just that for most of them their only exposure to 'puters was fricking around in the computer library, making the teacher cry and listening to Lil Wayne on YouTube once they finished their assignment. Pretty much all of them use their phones for everything, even the more sensitive stuff or tasks that would be more easily completed on a desktop. Instead they prefer to use Google docs (or whatever is Apples equivalent) on their phone. Another major reason for them being this way is that most of them thought that the kids who were good at computers were nerds or something, and called them gay; it gave them "the ick", so to speak. Who's the homosexual now, huh? Zoomers buy expensive rigs just to play Fortnite and to show off their bussy on Discord.

It's because they don't know how easy it really is. Even if decide they want to watch something without buying a subscription, they'll go the route of finding pirate streaming sites. One of you guys should make a silly little TikTok, dancing around like a moron to some shitty mix of two songs with some meme sound effects mixed in, teaching them how to pirate software, music, porno, shows, etc. Be the change you want to see.

Do Zoomers not go to specialty schools or take extracurriculars?

I don't understand how TikTok went from being considered peak cringe back around 2019, and then became the world's most popular platform. Were people really that desperate during the pandemic?

            Anonymous

            I think it's a mixture of things:

            - Zucc's alternatives are WAY more censored.
            - it allows people with a poor attention span to follow things easily since more often than not videos are short
            - easier way to post and free video edit tools that makes it very streamlined to personalize your content.

Now I'm not saying pandemic didn't really had any influence (heh) in its popularity, but there are possibly also other reasons.

            Anonymous

Why is it that almost everything is censored now? Everyone is always censoring themselves by saying "unalived", "SA'd", "ahh", etc instead of the actual word. When did this happen? A homie can't say "homie" either, most just use the ninja emoji. I can't take this shit no more. Fight the power, homie!

I grew up being called a millenial but now depending on who you ask I'm a zoomer. I hate how history seemingly got rewritten in just the last few years or so. It ised to be a millenial was someone who grew up at the turn of the millenium but now people who would have been maybe a grade or 2 below me in school are being called zoomers.
I like the definition of being old enough to remember life before 9/11 and the war on terror since it is based on cultural change.

        It varies.
My cousin and younger brother are both zoomers and are more techliterate than the majority of the population, in the case of my brother he knows more about cars than anyone I know. My cousin runs linux and has set up several servers, might be partially my influence. Both of them have built their own computers. My friend who claims to be a zoomer even though we were both considered millenials growing up doesn't understand how to torrent shit or how to assemble a computer even though I've shown him how several times.

I think that's less of a result of zoomers being technologically moronic, and more of a result of Computer Science being touted as a field where anyone can make good money in; it attracts too many people who's only goal is to make money, they have no real interest in computers or technology--maybe some surface-level interest, but it's certainly not to an autistic degree.

Most of them have no real interest in anything, CS or otherwise, they go to college because they're told to and might be expected to get a job or something if they refuse. And like you said it's been sold as a "make lots of money in this easy white-collar field" for many years, so they pick that.

I remember one of the many game specific forums I frequented was to mod lego rock raiders. We figured out how the game worked, how to unpack the game assets, how to modify the assets and get the game to load the new ones. We then started replacing the in game models with much higher poly count versions and much better textures pushing that old game engine to places it was never meant to go. It was a lot of fun. Same with GTA 1, 2, and 3. Lots of fun to push those games to do things they were never meant to do. Plus all the user made planes for MSFS. It was good times.

Those large office printers/copiers are notoriously shit to use. People have been struggling with them ever since they became a thing. Other than that its literally just Gen Z'ers not knowing how to use something because they've never had to use it before. OP wouldn't know how to use Windows intuitively if they hadn't spent most of their life using it. Literally a non-issue since learning the basic use of Windows or MS Office takes a few hours and can be taught in school to those who actually need the skills.
