Is "just don't care about it" the only answer to suffering?

Is "just don't care about it" the only answer to suffering?
If so, isn't that a form of nihilistic escapism? Is escapism good then?

Look at your time in this world as life in a sort of penal colony. Imagine you did something unspeakable in a previous incarnation and the suffering will become bearable due to it now making more sense.

That doesn't make it make any more sense. Justice and retribution are monkey things. If anything, it makes me outraged that we're lorded over by things which amount to little more than a more abstract kind of monkey. Someone aught to tear this stupid reality to shreds.

Oh another one. Look it doesn't matter how you wound up at nihilism, you made it, congratulations! If you want to be some lazy whiny sort of you know, b***h, then go to the anti-natalist crowd and calculate spreadsheets about how much pain you feel about existing and whatever else they do in-between making threads soliciting the token go kys responses. If you want to be a great nihilist then go find some empowering versions of it and stop being lazy. No one likes your complaints either way, except the anti-natalists, they love complaining. I can already see where you are likely to wind up, do you want my token go kys now or later?

here's my fricking philosophy: everyones got problems. You got problems. I got problems. I dont care about your problems cuz I have my own. I dont have time to frick around with your problems, I have too much to do as is.
The only reason people whinge about the world is because they dont want to deal with their own problems. Who cares if the world isnt fair. Who cares if there is no "justice". WHO FRICKING CARES. my fricking boat has leaks in it and its not going to be fixed crying about the world.

People do escapism all the time, the normie homosexuals that tell you not to are doing it themselves and are too stupid to even notice it. You might as well adopt the hedonistic lifestyle if you find life unbearable, there are worse things in life to regret especially for someone who suffers mental anguish. The last thing you should do is listen to a sheltered normie and their myopic opinions about mental illness.

Read Book III of the World as Will and Representation.

Nihilism is to care about nothing.
Acceptance is to care about only that which you can control or influence.

You have to accept that pain, suffering and struggle are as much apart of life as life itself. Nobody alive gets to escape pain. Embrace the struggle and overcome obstacles through it, that’s a life affirming attitude. A german philosopher figured this shit out 120 years ago, he’d say it better than I ever could.

      Thanks for your replies.

I think I whine because I desperately want some things to turn out not screwed up, which is basically impossible. You can tell from my post that I'm not settled on my thoughts.

Well if this is new to you then I can understand, especially if you were the type of person who had deep seated beliefs and convictions. Once you realize the extent of the freedom you have acquired either by accident or intention you will likely look back on this and laugh.

    >sit quietly and observe your suffering like a scientist would observe a natural phenomenon
    >develop a kind of detachment that makes it bearable in the process
    all you need to do

Yeah, don't listen to me, what do I know? You can always kick around existentialism when you get bored but can't decide on a cause to join. Generating meaning still means you can't be lazy, so it doesn't sound like the OP has much left, the anti-natalists are always looking for new members, I suppose there may be some quaint adage about misery seeks company or something, if not we can make one up to fit the bill.

This. Ever since I started doing heroin I spend far less time philosophising, and far more time figuring out how I'm going to get more money to buy heroin.

No the answer is to cure your complexes. Stop acting like serious suffering is a permanent feature and just fix the problem.

The answer to suffering is to embrace its challenges, embrace the struggles and try your best anyway. Life is meaningless WITHOUT suffering.

No; one must suffer strong: upright & onward.
