if you're a non-zoomer browsing IQfy then you have mental issues because your life should involve something other than imageboards.

        >browsing a website means your life only involves that website and nothing else
So this is the power of the zoomer intellect

To be fair, that's exactly how I live. All of my spare time is wasted on browsing and posting on this board.

I think he meant that you should already have a life outside of imageboards. he never implied having a grind mentality, but if you're a millennial that is still a user of something that mostly used by college students then maybe you haven't really grown. Like, you might be a kidult in a different form; someone who never managed to leave their bedroom and see the outside world. The average age of getting married here in the US is 29.

Cute konpyuta though, really wish I had something like that with a RISC-V CPU and decent memory for when my ShitPad will inevitably die.

The outside world is garbage, literally nothing of value out there.

Projection. Zoom zoom thinks browsing a board like this is all someone does if they're old. Boomers watch gay western flicks in 8 hour binges, even when they worked.

there's not much in the way of 4:3 displays nowadays, as long as it's got a way to display a 4:3 image centred then it's ok

i had a look and it says there is a switch to change between 800x480 and 640x480, so that's good

I want one of these as a word processor but I can find nothing about the windows 95 install and vga chipset supporting 16:9 resolutions
A 1024x576 layout is fine for Microsoft word, if not preferable in many ways, but stretched would look like shit

this is a 386SX-40, which is below win95's minimum requirements, so it's not going to run very well, though for word processing it might suffice. i don't know if you can make a custom 800x480 resolution for it

          >>this is a 386SX-40, which is below win95's minimum requirements,
W95's minimum requirements were a 16MHz 80386. That's what would later be called a DX, the SX version with a 16-bit external bus was only offered down to 20MHz. Early steppings worked so long as they were the double-sigma ones without the 32-bit mode bug.

Not that running 95 on a 16MHz CPU would necessarily have been that pleasant, but you could do it. Having enough RAM was more important, the stated minimum was 4MB but in the grand windows tradition you really wanted twice that.

            Anonymous

i remember what it said on the box in terms of memory, it said 8MB or 4MB with networking disabled
what you really want is 16MB though, that said, with solid state storage swapping wouldn't be too bad

            Anonymous

It's hilarious to think the CF card that goes into these have more bandwidth speed than the RAM the 386 has access to. Obviously the latencies are a different story, but still decent.

How many 7 inch 16:9 displays have you seen lately? I would imagine it would be way harder to find 16:9 displays in this size but I bet they just happened upon a cheap pile of panels that nobody else wanted.

These screens are most likely old 7" 800x480 panels they put on those digital photo frames, there's a frickton of those laying around. Not quite 16:9 but still widescreen.

The LCD seems to be able to run up to 75Hz, it probably just seems slow on the photo frames because their CPUs could barely render JPGs, the LCD itself is a lot more capable.

The 386 core is on it is an industrial chip Ali M6117, which interestingly used to be made by Nvidia and D&P before that.

it wasn't until the 486 that they began moving past that
also it has a 4:3 mode, a stretched 16:9 mode and VGA out
im just mad they excluded a serial port. it has lpt/parallel, ps/2 and ISA but you have to buy the optional serial card.

What's this "maid" meme? Is it a term for devices that hinder your productivity?

A Maid Computer is a highly mobile computer which can be used while standing or walking, without peripherals or special furniture, which can run compilers locally and has a physical keyboard and is small enough to fit in the standard apron of a maid outfit.

Oh, man. Wouldn't you just love to get one of those Gibsons?

Bet it looks crispy in the dark.

A troll posted here for years using an anime maid girl as their avatar about random shit including small computers. The homosexual mods refused to enforce the rule against avatar posting and allowed them to shit up the board.

        >avatar
You don't know what an avatar is. An avatar is a single static image attached to every post a user made on old style forums. IQfy won't let you put the same image in the same thread twice.

The attached image could be an avatar if someone was willing and able to attach it to every post they made.

it comes with a small board that breaks out ps/2 and vga, but you can move the mouse using the keyboard as well
i don't think there's much you will be doing on it that really needs the mouse though, since most software old enough to run well with it is in the pre- to early-mouse (i.e. mouse optional) era

This seems like a good solution for maids who want to play with retro coding tools. Is there a switch or a button or something to hold down to swap between mouse and arrow key operation?

This might mess with people who want to play retro games on their Win 95 device, if the game need a mouse and arrow keys simultaneously can't remap arrows to wasd or something.
